Unannounced Tony Hawk Remaster On The Way, Pro Skater Claims

Skateboarding star Tyshawn Jones revealed that he will appear in an updated Tony Hawk video game, even though Activision has yet to confirm the launch of any new versions.

In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Jones stated that he’s part of a new Tony Hawk game being released, which is actually a remastered version of an existing one. He was also featured in the previous edition as one of the playable professional skaters included in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.

Jones highlighted that the unexpected game he mentioned is actually a remastered version. It’s not certain which game he was referring to, but it could also be remakes. Last year, there were reports that the remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was turned down, allowing developer Vicarious Visions to concentrate on more Call of Duty material instead. However, Tony Hawk himself has confirmed that the series will carry on in some way or another.

The future of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series remains uncertain, but Bobby Kotick, former CEO of Activision, disclosed that they initially offered Tony Hawk $300,000 and a 1.5% royalty rate for using his name and likeness in the first game on the original PlayStation. Back then, Kotick suggested that Hawk was financially strapped and homeless, but his situation improved significantly as he received over four million dollars in royalties from Pro Skater 4.
