Ubisoft has plans for Siege. With X, shooter is expected to be successful for 10 more years

Yesterday concluded the Six Invitational tournament, organized by Ubisoft. During this event, they unveiled significant plans for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege. Besides announcing the first season of year 10, they also revealed a project called “Siege X”, designed to ensure the game remains popular for another ten years.

Rainbow Six: Siege X has been announced

Unfortunately, there isn’t much information available yet about Siege X, which is actually a significant update rather than a new title. We’ve only received a brief teaser for now, and more details will be revealed on March 13th when it will be officially unveiled. Interestingly, the director of R6 has hinted at it being a “significant evolution.

It is not Siege 2, and it’s not just another update. It’s a major evolution.

To strengthen and solidify the core structure of Siege, we’re committed to keeping it at the top as the premier tactical PvP first-person shooter.

This translates to significant visual and auditory enhancements, improved gameplay experience, and fresh gameplay elements, all while maintaining the essence that makes the heart of Siege unique and captivating.

Apart from the fact that developers have been developing Siege X and numerous enhancements slated for the upgrade over the past 3 years, Ubisoft has also disclosed that both press and developers have already been granted early access to this update. The materials presented by the company suggest that those who saw it were favorably impressed with the changes.

New features in Season 1, of year 10

In addition to the ongoing tournament known as Siege X at the Six Invitational, we’ve also received news about a fresh round of Rainbow Six: Siege competitions titled “Preparation Phase.” This season is set to launch on servers in March. Here’s the official trailer for your viewing pleasure.

As for the novelties, you can expect:

  1. new operator – Rauora – whose detailed description can be found on the Ubisoft website,
  2. update of the reputation system, which will bring new consequences,
  3. dynamic matchmaking, aimed at ensuring better matching during peak hours,
  4. refresh of Hereford Base map,
  5. a celebratory package containing a “carefully selected selection of the best items from the first nine years of Siege“;
  6. removal of DirectX 11 and leaving only version 12.

Absolutely, we’ll introduce a fresh Season Pass along with new weapon skins. Additionally, the cost of some operators is being lowered. For more details, I invite you to visit our game’s website. In the meantime, here’s the official gameplay trailer for your viewing pleasure.
