The recently released game “Days Gone” by Sony is slated for a remastered version. Yesterday’s announcement provided more information about this upcoming remaster, as shared in a post on the official PlayStation blog.
Price and bonuses for preorder
The game is priced at $49.99. If you already own the original version, you can upgrade to the remastered edition for just $10. On a PC, this would mean purchasing the Broken Road DLC at that cost.
You can look forward to seeing the pre-order option pop up later today. With a pre-purchase, you’ll receive some extra digital goodies as expected. Specifically, on PSN, you’ll get 8 avatars (there might also be availability on Steam, though it’s currently only confirmed for Sony), and you’ll start the game with several useful items to aid your progress.
New content for tough guys
Typically, a remaster’s key selling point is an enhanced visual experience, and that’s exactly what Days Gone is set to receive. The upgraded version will feature more detailed graphics, improved lighting and shadows, and will leverage VRR and Tempest 3D technologies. On consoles, players will have the choice between two modes: one focusing on smooth animations and another prioritizing graphical detail.
The shift to the PS5 console brings about support for the DualSense controller, as well as the potential for enhanced performance with the rumored PlayStation 5 Pro. This allows the game to leverage the increased capabilities of Sony’s newest technology.
In addition to Days Gone Remastered, you’ll find three new game modes tailored for enthusiasts seeking a tougher challenge or adrenaline junkies who love fast-paced action. These modes will particularly come in handy when engaging in Speedrun gameplay, where the objective is to complete the campaign as swiftly as you can.
In these challenges, you’ll encounter two distinct game modes: Permadeath and Horde Assault. If you die in the Permadeath mode (which essentially means ‘game over’), your character will no longer be playable. On the other hand, the Horde Assault mode is a twist on the traditional horde mode where you’ll battle waves of zombies whose attacks grow stronger as time progresses. Your objective is to endure for as long as possible, racking up points along the way.
Each mode will have its unique awards or achievements to be earned. Furthermore, an enhanced photography mode featuring extra customization options such as adjusting the time of day has been verified.
On April 25th, the remastered version of “Days Gone” is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5. Simultaneously, the additional content for the PC edition will also be available on the same day.
