Bitbase Set to Grow Its Crypto ATM Presence in Argentina

Bitbase grows its cryptocurrency Automated Teller Machine (ATM) presence in Argentina, providing users with a private and hassle-free method for purchasing and trading Bitcoin and other digital currencies.

Bitbase, a Spanish firm specializing in crypto ATMs, is extending its business reach into Argentina. This step is part of their strategy to capitalize on the increasing interest in cryptocurrencies within the nation. Having opened its first outlet in Buenos Aires back in 2024, Bitbase, the digital asset exchange, plans to set up additional terminals throughout 2025.

Cryptocurrency adoption is skyrocketing in Argentina. Currently, approximately four million individuals are actively using cryptocurrencies within the nation. The demand for crypto services is exceptionally high, with over ten million user accounts already activated. Notably, international firms such as Bitbase have recognized this growing trend.

Bitbase specializes in Crypto Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), also known as digital currency vending machines. These devices enable users to purchase and sell cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. With operations in multiple countries, Bitbase boasts over 130 of these machines operational globally. Additionally, the company manages 24 physical stores and employs around 50 people worldwide. Approximately 35,000 active users utilize their services.

Bitbase Crypto ATMs Offer Privacy and Convenience in Argentina

In Argentina, Athena Bitcoin serves as a significant competitor for Bitbase. Operating approximately a dozen terminals in Buenos Aires and other major cities across South America, Athena has chosen not to comment on the matter. However, Bitbase aims to expand its services and offer more choices to crypto users. To achieve this goal, they plan to introduce two-way terminals that will facilitate the seamless buying and selling of Bitcoin and other digital currencies.

Crypto Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) offer a unique advantage, primarily their focus on privacy. Unlike transactions made through Interac in Argentina, transactions conducted via crypto ATMs are not recorded by government agencies such as ARCA or AFIP. In contrast to Interac, crypto ATMs provide a higher level of anonymity for users.

Furthermore, Bitbase ensures its machines’ dependability. In case of any technical glitches, assets will be securely moved to the user’s digital wallet. This is possible due to the transaction being logged, enabling recovery during power failures or other disruptions.

Moreover, Bitbase aims to enhance their ATM infrastructure. The vision is to incorporate a credit card payment option in the near future, making it more convenient for a wider range of individuals to utilize these machines.

The growth of Bitbase into Argentina aligns with the rising trend of cryptocurrency acceptance in the nation. As more individuals show interest in digital assets, services like Bitbase offer a convenient and discreet method for purchasing and selling Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
