This year, Skate is planning an early release, and there’s a fresh opportunity to register for the beta testing. If you’re interested in getting a sneak peek at the game before it officially launches on consoles, Electronic Arts (EA) is now accepting registrations for just that purpose.

Through X (previously recognized as Twitter), those intrigued can register for the Skate Insider Playtesting program. Despite its fancy name, Electronic Arts aims to gather feedback from chosen players. As mentioned on their site, they are inviting individuals to participate in playtesting on Xbox and PlayStation. This follows an initial playtest on PC last year.

Although it isn’t certain when everyone can experience the beta version, Electronic Arts has started inviting more players for a taste. Moreover, insiders are promised an in-game skateboard and decals as incentives upon the game’s launch into early access.

In the announcement video, EA additionally responded to queries from the community. Primarily, they confirmed that console playtesting, initially planned for Fall 2024, has now been brought forward (i.e., it’s now happening), and they also mentioned an increase in Black hairstyle customization options in the final version of the game.

Skate is a reawakening of the cherished skateboarding series that has been inactive since 2010’s release of Skate 3. This project is being handled by Full Circle, a studio based in Vancouver. The team includes Deran Chung and Cuz Parry, who have previously worked on the primary installments of the game.

At present, there isn’t much additional information available on Skate. However, since those involved in playtesting can’t disclose info, here’s a quick recap: Back in June of last year, Full Circle, the developer, revealed updates about the improved Flick-It system and their vision for a constantly evolving cityscape.
