It’s being speculated that we might see the debut of the Nintendo Switch 2 as early as this week, but once it’s in our hands, the main question becomes what additional top-tier games will be available beyond Nintendo’s AAA titles? According to a recent report, Nintendo could potentially have already secured support from heavyweights like Konami, Square Enix, and Ubisoft for their upcoming releases.

According to Nate the Great, it appears that Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake and its sequel, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, will be playable on the upcoming Switch 2 console. Ubisoft is taking this a step further by planning to release a port of Assassin’s Creed Mirage for the launch window of the Switch 2. It’s also rumored that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is under development for Switch 2, but it won’t be ready in time for the console’s debut; instead, it’s been delayed until March.

The report indicates that Ubisoft is working on multiple games for the Switch 2, numbering more than a half dozen. Among these are a game from The Division series, Rainbow Six Siege, and a possible collection of the Mario + Rabbids series games. Earlier this month, a different report by Nate the Hate hinted at Microsoft’s plan to release Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on both Switch 2 and PS5 in 2025.

The report reveals that Ubisoft has more than six games in development for the Switch 2, including a title from the Division series and Rainbow Six Siege, as well as a potential combination of the two Mario + Rabbids games. In early February, a different piece by Nate the Hate suggested that Microsoft intends to introduce Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on both Switch 2 and PS5 in 2025.

According to a video game analyst, it is predicted that Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 console could sell approximately 4.3 million units in the United States this year. Although Nintendo has been keeping things under wraps, there have been numerous leaked details about the Switch 2 circulating online. At CES, Genki exhibited a prototype of the Switch 2 that may have prompted a visit from Nintendo’s legal team. Once Nintendo officially unveils the Switch 2, anticipation for the console is likely to grow even more as its release date approaches.
