Last week, during the annual gaming marathon known as Awesome Games Done Quick, another impressive amount of money was collected in the fight against cancer. This event, which takes place every year and was held this time in Pittsburgh, USA, managed to gather over $2.5 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation – a non-profit organization with the goal of reducing cancer deaths by 40% over the next decade.

2025’s Games Done Quick event approximately equaled the charitable donations from last year, during which Peanut Butter the dog showcased his skills in Gyromite on NES and defeated Glass Joe in Punch-Out!. Over the course of a week, this year’s gathering featured a live band performing the music for Crazy Taxi, as well as Dr. Doot using an electronic wind instrument to play Elden Ring on stream.

🎉The fundraising event #AGDQ2025 has amassed a grand total of $2,556,305 for @preventcancer! 👏 A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this marathon happen, and to all of you who showed incredible generosity and support. We look forward to seeing you all again next time at #SGDQ2025!! 💙

P.S. A huge shout-out to Prize Wizard for their invaluable contribution! 🙌
