Valorant has acknowledged that Customizable VCT Capsules can now be modified following fan complaints, which categorized them as an “improvement downgrade.
For the second consecutive year, the sports teams’ packages are returning, picking up from the 2024 season where numerous esports organizations and their players, notably Jordan ‘Zellsis’ Montemurro, competed fiercely to claim the highest sales positions.
However, following some unforgettable experiences in the 2024 season, Valorant introduced their 2025 capsules; however, these didn’t sit well with fans.
Luckily, Riot Games has responded and indicated that these packages may evolve throughout the year.
VCT Capsules 2025 labeled as a “downgrade” by fans
Due to the return of Capsules that enable spectators to display their preferred team’s hues during gameplay, Riot Games has elected to maintain the traditional design for the skin model, which has left certain fans disappointed.
Leo Faria, the Head of Valorant Esports, stated that the weapon wrap functions similarly to a sports team’s jersey, as players often desire to obtain the most recent design at the beginning of a new season.

Nevertheless, spectators have promptly pointed out the resemblances among the pairs of packages, sparking controversy over recurring “Classic” styles and what seems like a decrease in quality compared to the 2024 line’s offerings, as expressed by many.
As a passionate player, I can’t help but express my feelings about the annual release of skins for the same gun. Year after year, it feels like we’re being asked to purchase a skin that is remarkably similar to the ones before, leaving me wondering if there might be more variety in the design process.
A second added, “They all look the same and it‘s obviously a downgrade.”
Fans aimed their sights at the Player Card, transforming it into a standard blueprint that various teams can adapt by changing the color schemes.
“Generic player card = L,” a third fan quipped.
It’s important to note that Valorant has mentioned that the items you purchase in capsules could potentially undergo changes, meaning the versions you currently see might not be the definitive ones.
Riot Games confirms VCT Bundles will change throughout 2025

According to the in-game descriptions provided by Riot Games for the team capsules, they noted that the content could be altered often to align with the teams’ preferred branding.

Supporters anticipate that this may allow sports teams to modify the Player Cards, potentially showcasing significant events from the VCT 2025 season.
The bundles will adapt to any victories during the season, as demonstrated by former Sentinels star Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo, who displayed the Sentinels Classic skin with a tally of two trophies earned. It can be inferred that the winners of each regional league and international Masters/Champions tournaments will see their tallies updated accordingly.
This interpretation also implies that these capsules might adapt to any fresh business strategies within the Valorant environment, especially if a team undergoes rebranding or merging. For instance, Team Liquid, marking 25 years of their organization, recently unveiled a special edition logo for a limited time, which could potentially appear in these capsules as well.
