Earning Proficiency Points occurs as a result of spending time in-game, inflicting damage, scoring knockouts, and utilizing abilities. These points are what propel you forward in the five distinct rankings. While it’s not particularly challenging, it does require some dedication and patience.
Finishing Hero Proficiency tasks grants access to sprays, KO notifications, and a system-issued avatar. Some gamers suggest adding custom nameplates as well.
Previously, acquiring new nameplates could be done via store packages or the Season 1 Battle Pass, but there’s a consensus among the community that they should also be accessible without having to spend any money.

In simpler terms, a player of the game Marvel Rivals shared multiple signs (banners) on Reddit, expressing their belief that these banners surpass the existing nameplates. This discussion led to a debate about the Hero Proficiency system, with many agreeing that it offers superior rewards compared to the current system.
As a dedicated fan, I must admit that the character sprays, KO prompts, and avatars showcase my proficiency to some extent. However, they haven’t quite reached the level of mastery that some fellow players might have envisioned.
One user proposed that it’s obviously advantageous for proficiency bonuses, saying they’d prefer a character banner over the current alternative character emblem.
The user asserted that it’s unfair we can’t acquire these (or regular ones) simply by playing the character, instead.
In the announcement for Season 1, NetEase didn’t disclose any planned adjustments to the Hero Proficiency system, yet gamers remain optimistic about potential updates down the line.
A third gamer commented that the current proficiency rewards are quite sparse. They expressed hope for the addition of extra tiers and rewards in the future to enhance the experience. As things stand now, hero challenges mainly demand an investment of time. Introducing tougher challenges could make achieving mastery significantly more gratifying.
