Bandai Namco recently made public that they’re accepting sign-ups for the impending Elden Ring Nightreign closed beta trial, more commonly known as a closed network test, slated for mid-February.

The network test offers gamers an opportunity to experiment with certain cooperative aspects of the single-player game. In this test, groups of three players can join forces to navigate a scenario that spans over a three-day, three-night duration. During this time, they’ll encounter progressively challenging bosses and enemy types, as per Bandai Namco’s announcement.

As an eager enthusiast, I understand that the “network test” serves as our opportunity to undergo a “pre-launch technical checkup” designed by Bandai Namco. This test is crucial for them to verify multiple aspects of the game’s online functionality before the grand release.

How to sign up

The Nightreign network trial happens from February 14-17 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, and you can register for it right now. Registration closes on January 20 at 6 AM Pacific Time / 9 AM Eastern Time. Although the trial is compatible only with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the complete game will also be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam platforms.

The sign-up page requires gamers to provide their email address and choose a preferred platform, with options including Steam, but currently, the test is exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, players need to specify their country of residence during registration. It’s important to note that only individuals aged 17 or older are eligible to participate in this event.

Network Test Schedule

As for the Nightreign network test itself, it runs for the following times:

  • Session 1: Feb 14, 3am to 6 am PT
  • Session 2: Feb 14, 7pm to 10 pm PT
  • Session 3: Feb 15, 11am to 2pm PT
  • Session 4: Feb 16, 3am to 6 am PT
  • Session 5: Feb 16, 7pm to 10 pm PT

In case you’re joining us late, Nightreign is set in a universe parallel to Elden Ring. You select one of eight characters and aim to endure through each nightly cycle. The game’s map progressively contracts during this time.

At the close of every night, players encounter a formidable foe. If they emerge triumphant, they are presented with tougher tasks ahead. The final session takes place on the third night where they engage in battle against the selected Nightlord.
