Venu was blocked on its drive to the goal.
On Friday, Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery announced they would abandon their plans for a combined sports streaming platform that would broadcast all of their sporting events and studio programs. They explained this move was necessary to “adapt to the changing preferences of sports viewers by concentrating on current products and distribution methods.” This decision comes after Disney decided to invest in the Fubo live-streaming service and merge its Hulu live-TV service with it.
As a passionate filmgoer, reflecting upon the decision, I’ve come to terms with the fact that our joint venture, Venu Sports, will not be moving forward and won’t be launching its streaming service. In this dynamic industry, we’ve found it crucial to adapt to the shifting landscape and cater to the growing needs of sports enthusiasts by concentrating on our current product lines and distribution networks. We are immensely proud of the progress Venu has made so far and extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated Venu team during this transition phase. They will have our full support throughout this process.
