Following player feedback and discussion, a developer for Battlefield 6 has acknowledged a bug causing inaccurate weapon spread since the game’s release, and has stated a solution is being implemented.
While most players are enjoying the new Battlefield 6, the launch hasn’t been perfect. A common complaint is the weapon bloom, which makes aiming unpredictable and causes shots to miss even when aimed correctly.
As a player, I was really wondering if the blurry effect when shooting – the ‘bloom’ – was meant to make the game feel more realistic. It felt a bit much, honestly! But thankfully, a developer just confirmed it’s actually a bug, and they’re working on fixing it. That’s a relief!
Weapon bloom fix is coming soon in Battlefield 6
Streamer TacticalBrit posted a clip of gameplay from the upcoming Battlefield 6, highlighting an issue with weapon accuracy – the spread isn’t resetting as it should. Popular streamer Shroud responded, saying he encountered the same bug during the game’s beta test.
However, Principal Game Designer, Florian Le Bihan, replied to set the record straight.
We fixed the original Beta bug, but we’ve found two new problems that affect how spread out shots are in the game. This will sometimes cause your shots to be more scattered than intended.
“The team is working on this and we’re looking at general balance/tuning of dispersion too.”
We’ve resolved the original Beta bug, but discovered two new issues affecting how spread or bloom appears in the game. This means you might notice more spread than intended at times. Our team is already working on a fix and also looking at overall balance adjustments for spread.

We’ve identified several bugs that are causing increased bullet spread in some cases, making it harder to hit your target. Our team is currently working on a solution.
The developers are also looking into lowering the spread of shots after player feedback since the game launched, and may reduce it further in a future update.
This new feature has gotten mixed reactions. Some players appreciate the added realism and difficulty, while others feel it makes the shooting less enjoyable.
It’s still unclear how weapon bloom will be adjusted in the future, but players can be confident that the current bugs causing issues will be fixed shortly.
