Known powerhouse in Indian cinema, Yash celebrated his 39th birthday by unveiling a sneak peek of his upcoming movie “Toxic – A Fairy Tale for Mature Audiences,” making it his first venture since the successful “K.G.F” series was released.

The video shows Yash, dressed in a white suit and fedora, with a cigar in his hand, strolling around a classy nightclub atmosphere.

Actor Yash, who gained nationwide recognition through the “K.G.F” series, has emerged as one of Indian cinema’s most popular stars. Famous for his portrayal of Rocky Bhai in “K.G.F: Chapter 1” (2018) and “K.G.F: Chapter 2” (2022), Yash’s extraordinary transformation into a larger-than-life action hero contributed significantly to the films’ record-breaking box office earnings, overcoming language boundaries. The second film in this series ranks as the fifth highest-grossing Indian movie ever made. While the “K.G.F” saga reinforced his star status, Yash’s initial career in Kannada cinema demonstrated his adaptability with remarkable performances in films like “Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari” (2014) and “Googly” (2013).

The movie “Toxic” is helmed by Geetu Mohandas, a filmmaker who initially garnered international attention with her debut feature “Liar’s Dice,” which made its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and represented India in the 2015 Oscars. This film, delving into themes of migration and displacement, bagged two Indian National Film Awards. Post this success, Mohandas went on to direct “Moothon” (meaning ‘The Elder One’), a bilingual production in Malayalam and Hindi that was well-received at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2019. Previously, Mohandas was a highly regarded actor in Malayalam cinema before transitioning to direction.

As a movie enthusiast myself, I can’t help but be thrilled about ‘Toxic’, a tale that dares to challenge the norms and stir the turbulence within us. Today, we’re privileged to share a sneak peek of our production, while simultaneously honoring Yash – a man whose vision and charisma have earned him the respect of the entire nation.

Working together with Yash on this project has been a fascinating joint effort, breaking through geographical, linguistic, and cultural limitations. The blending of our unique perspectives resulted in something more than mere concession or confusion; it was the product of artistic vision intertwined with the discipline of commercial narrative. Our aim is to create an experience that stirs a deep, instinctual response in viewers – a film not only to be observed, but to be experienced emotionally,” Mohandas explained.

The movie is being made collaboratively by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, with Venkat K. Narayana and Yash taking on the roles of producers.
