In simple terms, “The Elder Scrolls 6,” the upcoming game by Bethesda Game Studios, isn’t expected to arrive anytime soon. Patience is needed for this role-playing game, as it has unfortunately surpassed a significant point in time marking its delay.

Reddit user RoboPup noted that it’s been 2,403 days since the announcement of The Elder Scrolls 6 on June 10, 2018 (via IGN). This number is significant because it represents the same amount of time between when the trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6 was unveiled and the release date of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which came out on November 11, 2011.

Bethesda Game Studios recently unveiled their latest game, Starfield. Following this, The Elder Scrolls 6 and eventually Fallout 5 are set to be released, though Bethesda, now under the ownership of Microsoft, has yet to disclose specific release dates for any of these upcoming titles.

Todd Howard, head of Bethesda, has expressed doubts about whether it was wise to reveal The Elder Scrolls 6 so prematurely. On the other hand, ex-Bethesda employee Bruce Nesmith suggested that the reason for announcing the game early was due to fans’ persistent inquiries and anticipation, almost like they were brandishing pitchforks seeking details about the next Elder Scrolls. Nesmith further mentioned that it might be difficult for The Elder Scrolls 6 to meet the high expectations set by the hype surrounding it.

Bethesda breaking the norm by unveiling The Elder Scrolls 6 ahead of schedule marks a shift in their usual practices. Some may remember how they revealed Fallout 4 (after several leaks) in June 2015 and launched it in November of the same year.

A highly anticipated title among gamers is Grand Theft Auto VI. Regrettably, Rockstar Games remained silent about this game throughout the whole year of 2024, thereby setting a melancholic milestone for itself.
