As a die-hard fan of both Black Ops 6 and Squid Game, I must say this crossover event has my heart racing with excitement! Growing up playing Call of Duty and binge-watching Netflix series, never did I imagine these two worlds would collide.
From the moment I heard about the Red Light, Green Light mode in multiplayer, I was hooked. The suspense and tension are exactly like the original show, and the thrill of competing is unmatched. Pentathlon, Squid Game Moshpit, and the Zombies modes add even more variety to keep things fresh and exciting.
However, let me tell you, I’m not a fan of Activision locking content behind a paid battle pass. As a longtime player, I’ve earned a lot of in-game items through my hard work, and it feels like a slap in the face to have to pay for these new skins and modes.
Despite this, I can’t help but look forward to what’s coming next. The development team seems to have put all their eggs in one basket with this event, but if they can keep the content coming, especially in Season 2, I won’t mind waiting a little longer.
Finally, let me say that if you thought playing Red Light, Green Light as a child was tough, try doing it while being gunned down by other players! I guess that’s what they mean when they say “adulting is hard.” Jokes aside, this crossover event is shaping up to be one of the best yet, and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!
In a thrilling blend of two popular titles, Black Ops 6 and Squid Game, temporary gameplay modes are being added to the multiplayer arena. To ensure a smooth start, it’s recommended to familiarize yourself with the rules before diving in for the initial experience.
The Squid Game series has become a global sensation. Originally mesmerizing viewers back in 2021, its second season surpassed expectations by breaking the Netflix viewership record with an astounding 68 million views within just four days.
As an avid gamer, I’m thrilled about Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s crossover event! It brings fresh operator skins and unique game modes to the table. However, the excitement was somewhat dampened when Activision decided to lock some of this latest content behind a paid battle pass, causing quite a stir among fans like me.
Furthermore, the development team dedicated all their resources exclusively to this project, without any other content being scheduled until Season 2, an estimate for its launch is set for late January.
But despite all of the skepticism, there is a lot to be excited about with these new modes.
Squid Game LTMs explained: Warzone, Multiplayer, & Zombies
Here is a look at every LTM included in the Squid Game event.
Red Light, Green Light (Multiplayer)
Modeled after an intriguing scene in the first season of the series, Red Light, Green Light game demands that participants move across a soccer field from a starting point marked by a Red Card, all while avoiding being eliminated.
Based on my years of experience as a competitive game participant, I must say that this event has some intriguing rules. The fundamental guideline is to follow Young-hee’s commands: “Green Light” to move and “Red Light” to halt. It’s essential to abide by these instructions, or you risk elimination. What makes this game particularly interesting are the additional rules for rounds two and three. During these stages, operators are equipped with weapons and can engage in melee attacks and finishing moves against other competitors. Given my past experiences in similar events, I can attest that such dynamics add a layer of unpredictability and excitement to the competition. I’m eager to see how this unique rule set plays out and how it affects the strategies employed by the participants.
Pentathlon (Multiplayer)
The Pentathlon consists of five different multiplayer game modes: Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, a special Team Deathmatch mode called Piggy Bank, and Roulette. In the Piggy Bank mode, each kill contributes to a large prize pool known as the Mega Piggy Bank, and players compete to control it when it falls during the game.
As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the high-stakes thrill of Roulette is unmatched! The one-shot eliminations with the Roulette Handgun, doubling the points, adds a level of excitement that keeps me on the edge of my seat. However, the risk it poses – the potential for the weapon to backfire and blow up in my hands – makes every shot feel like a gamble. It’s a dangerous dance between risk and reward, one that I find myself constantly drawn to, reminding me of the rollercoaster ride that is life itself.
Squid Game Moshpit (Multiplayer)
As a devoted enthusiast, I’d liken my experience with the Squid Game Moshpit to that of a Pentathlon contestant. However, instead of five diverse events, this playlist is a thrilling amalgamation of Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint. But, there are some tantalizing twists!
The Red Light, Green Light Scorestreak is a game-changer, freezing all enemies in their tracks or wiping them out if they dare to move during the green light phase. The suspense and anticipation this adds to the gameplay are electrifying, making each match a heart-pounding adventure!
In every game on this playlist, you’ll find a Mega Piggy Bank as a key element. When an operator is eliminated, they leave behind a smaller Piggy Bank that gives a slight point increase when collected. After the Mega Piggy Bank falls, players engage in competition to gather all the points accumulated within it.
At the outset of each match, you’ll find Roulette Handguns strategically placed at the map’s center. Wielding one of these guns grants you a persistent UAV, capable of instantly eliminating any adversary for double the score. Yet, beware, as your position is always revealed on the map, and each shot carries a risk of detonating you.
Dead Light, Green Light (Zombies)
At Liberty Falls and Citadelle des Morts in the game of Zombies, you can find the modes Dead Light, Green Light. During the “Green Light” period, Operators gather additional Essence. However, once the “Red Light” signal is given, any moving Operator will lose their Essence.
The Dead Light Phase spawns a more challenging wave of enemies.
Squid Game — Call of Duty: Warzone
In the fictional setting of Urzikstan, the show Squid Game presents a sequence of progressively changing tasks. These tasks involve dismissing less productive teams after each stage, as well as unpredictably activating the game “Red Light, Green Light.
