As a long-time admirer of the cinematic arts, I find myself deeply moved by the show of solidarity and support for Blake Lively, a remarkable actress who has proven her professionalism, creativity, and kindness time and again on the sets of “A Simple Favor” and its sequel.
Director Paul Feig has added his voice to those expressing support for actress Blake Lively, who made a complaint about sexual harassment involving her co-star Justin Baldoni on the set of “It Ends With Us.
Feig, the director of both “A Simple Favor” and its sequel “A Simple Favor 2”, commended Lively and expressed that she was undeserving of the supposed smear campaign that Lively alleges was instigated by Baldoni.
As a passionate cinephile, let me express that working alongside Blake in two films has been nothing short of an unparalleled experience. She is one of the most dedicated, imaginative, cooperative, gifted, and considerate individuals I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with. Unfortunately, she found herself at the receiving end of a malicious smear campaign that was entirely undeserved. It’s disheartening to see someone as exceptional as her subjected to such treatment.
“A Simple Favor 2” is set to be released next year.
Robyn Lively, who played a minor role in “It Ends With Us” and is currently acting alongside Zoe Saldana in “Lioness”, shared a supportive statement about her sister Blake on Instagram. In her post, she described Blake as one of the kindest, most genuine, and caring individuals she knows. She defended Blake against allegations, stating that Blake isn’t a villain but rather a protective mother, a loving spouse, a dedicated sibling, friend, and someone who endured challenging filming conditions. While people may disagree with the marketing campaign, mistakes were made, but Blake should not bear the sole blame as she was not responsible for those decisions.
The pair recently voiced their backing for Lively, joining others in expressing support. Colleen Hoover, author of “It Ends With Us” and a producer on the film, also publicly endorsed the actor on Instagram, posting alongside a picture of the duo embracing: “You’ve been sincere, compassionate, encouraging, and patient since our first encounter. Thank you for being authentic. Always remain genuine. Never falter.
As a devoted movie enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a strong connection when I see my fellow Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars – America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel – standing united. They’ve expressed their unwavering support for Blake Lively in her battle against the alleged smear campaign aimed at damaging her reputation. I stand with them in solidarity.
On Saturday, it emerged that Lively made a detailed allegation against Baldoni to the California Civil Rights Department, accusing him of sexual harassment during the filming of “It Ends With Us.” She further claimed that after the alleged incidents, he organized a negative campaign against her during the movie’s promotion.
As a devoted film enthusiast, I’d rephrase it like this: “When faced with allegations against Baldoni, his legal representative swiftly dismissed them as completely untrue. After the disclosure of the complaint, this talented actor and director was let go by agency WME, which is also in charge of representing Lively.
