Growing up watching Moana on repeat, I never imagined seeing her race through vibrant tracks as a kart racer. And now, here we are, witnessing Maui’s powerful presence, complete with his magical fishhook and hawk transformations.
At long last, Disney Speedstorm is introducing characters from Moana! The upcoming lineup includes the charismatic demigod Maui as a playable racer. The trailer offers a glimpse of Maui’s revamped appearance for the game, featuring his unique racing attire and customized vehicle, complemented by several signature abilities.
It’s not surprising that Maui belongs to the Trickster category. Unlike other classes, Tricksters boast higher Boost levels and can acquire nitro fuel through drifting. They often develop abilities such as Hack or Bomb. Maui’s distinctive skill is called Hero to All. In its standard form, he utilizes his magical fishhook to detonate a massive explosion; in the charged version, he transforms into a hawk to retaliate and swiftly overtake opponents.
In the trailer, it’s mentioned that Maui is ready for action right now, hinting that Moana will be joining him soon as well. Much like Maui, Moana seems to have received her own Speedstorm transformation and vehicle, sharing a resemblance with Maui’s design. The trailer didn’t reveal specific details about Moana’s abilities.
