As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for the mustached plumber from the Mushroom Kingdom, I can’t help but feel a rush of nostalgia upon hearing about the upcoming 4K Blu-ray release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. With my past experiences of missing out on the original Steelbook Edition, I’ve learned to act quickly when it comes to preordering limited edition merchandise.
On March 4, 2025, a new 4K Blu-ray release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie will hit stores, featuring a unique steelbook case. This special edition is only available at Walmart and can be preordered now for $28. Given the rapid sellout history of Walmart’s exclusive steelbook releases for popular films and considering this as the largest video game adaptation ever, it’s expected to fly off shelves quickly.
