As someone who’s spent countless hours huddled around a screen, cheering for my favorite teams and cursing at the referees, I can tell you that this week’s Madden 25 Player Ratings Update has left me both impressed and bewildered.
The latest Madden 25 Player Ratings Update has arrived ahead of Week 14, and players like Josh Allen, Nico Collins, and more received increases to their OVRs. Furthermore, several other players on each team received an adjustment, based on their performances so far this year. However, others saw decreases for underperforming. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the Madden 25 Player Ratings Update ahead of Week 14.
Josh Allen, Nico Collins Thrive in Madden 25 Player Ratings Update – Week 14
- Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills – 95 OVR (+2)
In the Bills’ victory against San Francisco, Allen barely touched the ball 20 times, yet miraculously managed to score three touchdowns. This incredible Superstar Quarterback has thrown an impressive 26 touchdowns this season compared to just seven turnovers, which is quite remarkable given that he doesn’t have a star wide receiver on his team. Despite fierce competition from the likes of Lamar Jackson and Saquon Barkley, Allen remains a strong contender for the MVP award this season. Additionally, an upgrade in his rating for Madden 25 has solidified his status as one of the top Quarterbacks in the game.
- Derwin James Jr., Los Angeles Chargers – 92 OVR (+1)
Hardest Hitting Safety in the league#Madden25 | @chargers
— Madden NFL 25 (@EAMaddenNFL) December 6, 2024
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but shout out my pride for James Jr., whose incredible interception clinched the victory against the Falcons, propelling the Chargers to an impressive 8-4 record. Not only did he grab that game-winning pick, but he also racked up ten total tackles, two of which resulted in a loss, and even deflected one pass. It’s his performances like these that have been instrumental in L.A.’s defense, currently boasting the best points-per-game average in the league at just 15.7. Week after week, players like James are the driving force behind our defense shutting down opposing offenses. Go Chargers!
- Nico Collins, Houston Texans – 88 OVR (+1)
Over the past fortnight, C.J. Stroud’s preferred offensive tool has been exceptionally effective. In his last two matches, Collins has reeled in 13 passes for a total of 211 yards and scored one touchdown. Despite participating in just eight games this season, the up-and-coming Texans receiver finds himself ranked 11th in overall yardage and 7th in average yards per reception. Additionally, Collins boasts the highest average receiving yards per game this year, accumulating 104 yards in each contest.
- Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals – 87 OVR (+1)
Although Trey McBride hasn’t scored a touchdown yet this season, he’s been an indispensable asset for the Cardinals’ offense. In fact, McBride has more receiving yards than both Tyreek Hill and Garrett Wilson, despite playing in fewer games. Kyler Murray has a solid array of weapons in Arizona, with rookie WR Marvin Harrison Jr. among them. However, McBride stands out as a dependable tight end who’s become a cornerstone of this offense.
- Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders – 85 OVR (+1)
The star Rookie TE is +6 OVR on the season #Madden25 | @Raiders
— Madden NFL 25 (@EAMaddenNFL) December 6, 2024
Regardless of who’s tossing balls in Vegas, Bowers consistently stands out as their top choice. This talented rookie tight end is already building a reputation following his impressive 10-140-1 performance from the recent loss to the Chiefs. At the moment, he ranks fourth in receiving yards and sixth in yards after catch among all receivers. Even though the Raiders’ season has ended, they have a promising future with players like Bowers on their team.
It was noticed that a number of additional players saw an upgrade to their Madden 25 Player Rankings prior to Week 14.

As for week 14, it kicked off last night as the Detroit Lions triumphed over the Green Bay Packers with a thrilling score of 34-31. Head Coach Dan Campbell displayed a bold strategy on fourth down, resulting in his offense gaining new sets of downs four times out of five instances. Even though they were within field goal range, Campbell opted to run instead, leading to Jared Goff getting tackled but managing to pass the ball off to David Montgomery at the right moment. This strategic move allowed them to run down the clock to the final two seconds before Jake Bates made the game-winning field goal. The victory propels the Lions to a 12-1 record, maintaining their position as the top team in the NFC.
Despite the current situation, we eagerly anticipate the upcoming adjustments to player ratings.
