As a music enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of some of the most iconic performers, I am absolutely thrilled to see Carrie Underwood grace the stage once again for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest” on ABC! Her journey from winning “American Idol” in 2005 to becoming a judge on the show and now performing on the biggest stage of them all is truly inspiring.

On ABC, Carrie Underwood is set to perform live in Times Square, New York City, as the New Year’s countdown begins for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” in 2025.

ABC, together with Dick Clark Productions, revealed the schedule for “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” featuring Seacrest in his 20th year as host, sharing duties with fellow host Rita Ora.

2005’s “American Idol” winner and current judge on the show, Underwood, is set to perform a medley of her most popular songs right before midnight. Moreover, country artist Megan Moroney and British singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor are confirmed performers for “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” in New York City. Lastly, Dayanara Torres will reprise her role as co-host during the event in Puerto Rico.

In a statement, Underwood expressed her joy about performing on ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ in Times Square once more this year, especially just before the ball drops. She is excited to mark the 20-year milestone since winning ‘American Idol’ by participating alongside Ryan as he hosts his 20th New Year’s Eve event in Times Square.

On Tuesday, December 31st, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024” will be broadcast live on ABC starting at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. The event will also be available for streaming the next day on Hulu.

This year’s CMA Awards’ new artist, Moroney, will perform a two-track medley from her second album titled “Am I Okay?” during the show. This album entered Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart at No. 3 upon its release and marked Moroney’s first entry into the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. Throughout 2024, Moroney toured extensively across the U.S. with Kenny Chesney.

Ellis-Bextor will have her first appearance on “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” performing her platinum-selling hit “Murder on the Dancefloor.” This popular song, initially released over two decades ago, gained significant virality this year following its use in Emerald Fennell’s movie “Saltburn.

Previously mentioned, we’ve got some new acts joining the lineup: Lenny Kravitz, a renowned rocker, Teddy Swims, a talented singer-songwriter, Tinashe, an R&B artist and dancer, as well as country musicians Cody Johnson and Thomas Rhett.

In the previous year, ABC and Dick Clark Productions agreed to continue their partnership for the annual New Year’s Eve event up until January 1, 2029.
