As a seasoned global streaming enthusiast with a penchant for uncovering hidden gems, I can hardly contain my excitement about Max’s latest moves! The blend of French original series and the expansion into Turkey is a testament to their commitment to delivering quality content from diverse cultures.

Following the premiere of its inaugural French series “The Confidante” and documentary “Breaking the Bank,” Max is set to introduce two additional French productions and plans a spring debut in Turkey, as shared during a lively panel talk at Content London.

In Turkey, Max will merge BluTV, a locally-acquired subscription video on demand (SVOD) service from last year, with HBO Originals. This union will also include returning seasons of popular local productions from BluTV, original streaming content from Turkey, Warner Bros. films, DC Universe, and true crime and documentary series.

I’m currently active in 74 markets, reaching over 110 million subscribers. Our streaming service is set to expand into three of Europe’s largest markets by 2026, as announced by our company.

To kick off its offerings in Turkey, the service plans to feature “Prince” season 3 and “Magarsus” season 2, as well as “The First Gokturk,” an imaginative series blending Turkish and nomadic history, which was conceived by Alper Çağlar.

As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that Vera Peltekian, a highly esteemed figure in the industry, has hinted at two upcoming series I’ve become part of – “Privileges” and “Paolo.” As the VP and head of streaming original production in France, her words carry significant weight. Formerly with Canal+’s Creation Originale, she emphasized that Max in France is all about shows that resonate with today’s audience. In her own words, “That’s our mark. That’s our tone.” I couldn’t agree more! These series are set to reflect the zeitgeist of our times, and I can hardly wait for you all to see them!

The story revolves around Adèle, a young inmate who gets a chance at a new life through an early-release deal by working at a prestigious hotel in Paris. Though she’s prepared for embarrassment, she finds that her criminal history and perceived disposability are what made her attractive to the Palace, leading to a perilous game of power and manipulation.

The show was developed, scripted, and overseen by Marie Monge and Vladimir de Fontenay, who have worked together before on “Vampires.” Hugo Gélin of Zazi Séries is set to produce the series, with filming scheduled to begin in January.

Initially taking on the role of a pet groomer, Adèle gradually amasses influence among her clientele,” Peltekian noted, further remarking that “the establishment serves as a miniature community.” She described the atmosphere as playfully ironic.

Meanwhile, the psychological thriller ‘Paolo’ was crafted by Sébastien Marnier, who is known for his critically praised films such as ‘Faultless’ and ‘The Origins of Evil.’

This series tells the story of a typical working-class young man whose life takes an unexpected turn when he meets his old schoolmate, Téophane – a charismatic and ambitious local politician. At first, his feelings for Téophane are admiration and a desire to aid in the campaign, but it quickly escalates into an intense obsession that leads them on a dangerous journey together. The series was jointly penned by Juliette Soubrier and produced by Floriane Cortes at Mintee.
