They’re preparing to distribute this thrilling superhero team-based PvP shooter game in a matter of hours on both consoles and PCs. For those playing on PCs, preloading is an option to ensure a smooth experience right from launch. In anticipation of the release, they held their final discussion before it hits the shelves.
The latest Developer Talk, number 7, was published on the official Marvel Rivals news platform. In this discussion, the developers divulged crucial information about the game’s monetization strategy, a feature that will be implemented at launch. They provided additional details regarding the different in-game items available, stressing that they will only charge for cosmetic items that offer visual changes but no statistical advantages or pay-to-win aspects.
In the most recent Dev Talk, they covered various game features tied to its Monetization system accessible to all gamers. The main Monetization element, the Battle Pass, is set to debut with the game at launch. It was emphasized that both paid (Luxury) and free tracks will be offered, providing players a range of items.

Before the game launched, players were drawn to the fact that if they bought a Luxury Battle Pass, they could exchange its rewards with Chromo Tokens (earned from tasks and events) during the next season, even if they hadn’t finished it. The Season 0 Battle Pass will be sold at “half the usual price of future ones” due to its shorter length, and the developer mentioned that it would have “approximately half the number of items” compared to standard seasons.
In this Marvel Rivals game, there are two primary forms of in-game money: Lattice (Gold) and Units (Blue). You can get these currencies through different methods, and they both serve similar purposes. Units, for instance, can be earned free of charge by progressing through the Battle Pass, completing achievements, or participating in in-game events. Interestingly, you can also exchange Lattice for Units at a 1:1 rate. On the contrary, Lattice is primarily obtained via in-game purchases; however, it’s important to note that some Lattice may be awarded through the Battle Pass as well.
In terms of character cosmetic items in this game, they represent the sole form of paid content available. Typically, these items are obtained via bundles sold through the game’s online shop. It is important to mention that the developer has stated that skins can be purchased individually; however, by purchasing them as part of a bundle, players often receive the skin and extra items at a reduced price.
In certain cases, players might receive complimentary cosmetic items for no charge, such as the Iron Man Armor Model 42 at launch. It’s worth noting that accomplishing Achievements and participating in in-game events can grant you free cosmetics and units, which can assist in financing cosmetic items available in the store without requiring real-world money to buy them directly.
