As a long-time gaming enthusiast who’s seen more than a few games rise and fall over the years, I find myself intrigued by the upcoming episode of Secret Level featuring the enigmatic Concord on Amazon Prime Video. Despite its unfortunate demise, I appreciate the showrunner Tim Miller’s commitment to sharing this unique tale, which is a testament to the enduring allure of games that may have had their run but left an indelible mark on our collective consciousness.
The cancelled multiplayer shooter by Sony, named Concord, is featured in an episode of Amazon’s video game anthology series called Secret Level. Since the game no longer operates, this episode might be one of the final opportunities for fans to learn about Concord. Despite the game’s termination, the creator of Secret Level, Tim Miller, didn’t contemplate scrapping the episode, and neither Amazon nor its representatives requested it to be removed.
Miller shared with GamesRadar that neither Amazon nor they themselves had proposed this project, as it differed from their previous games like Unreal Tournament. However, the outcome was a captivating narrative accompanied by stunning visuals, which the team put in great effort to create.

Miller continued by expressing his team’s pride in the episode they’ve created and their excitement for fans to view it. He added that while he regrets the game no longer exists due to its developers being good people who strived to do their best, this doesn’t diminish their eagerness to share the product of their hard work, which many artists were also involved in.
Dave Wilson, an executive producer, mentioned that the inclusion of Concord in the series had been decided on years prior. Similar to Miller, Wilson expressed great pride in the Concord-themed episode and hinted that its overarching theme revolves around happiness.
Wilson remarked, “If a show had an episode overflowing with happiness, it was fantastic, but strangely, it leaves me feeling melancholic afterward.
Previously, I found myself captivated by Miller’s discussion on how the Concord episode of Secret Level hinted at the immense possibilities of this world and its inhabitants.
He expressed that if there is any trace left of their work on that particular product, he wishes the developers could find some merit, even a small amount, in the time, effort, and dedication they invested into it.
The Secret Level is a collection of shows, much like Miller’s previous production, Love, Death & Robots. It consists of 15 episodes in total, with segments inspired by franchises such as Mega Man, Pac-Man, The Outer Worlds, and PlayStation broadly speaking. This series will debut on Prime Video on December 10. Some notable voices featured include Keanu Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Gabriel Luna, Claudia Doumit, Merle Dandridge, and others.
Initially released in August for both PlayStation and PC, Concord struggled to garner a following, leading Sony to the unprecedented step of closing the game down and issuing refunds. Regrettably, Firewalk Studios, the developer behind Concord, has since ceased operations. In the future, Sony’s leadership has pledged to introduce stricter measures aimed at preventing similar occurrences.
