As a seasoned gamer and content creator with over a decade of experience under my belt, I can’t help but share my thoughts on PewDiePie’s recent critique of Joe Rogan and the podcast phenomenon.
PewDiePie was quite open in his criticism towards Joe Rogan, labeling him “unintelligent” following his listen to some episodes of Rogan’s podcast, and moreover, he criticized the podcast format itself.
On November 28th, PewDiePie shared a YouTube video on his channel discussing the increasing popularity of podcasts, entitled: “Podcasts are Taking Things Too Far.
Felix began by stating that there are approximately 3.2 million podcasts available, emphasizing his earlier point that the number of podcasts is overwhelming – even your grandmother and the school janitor have their own podcasts.
In the video, PewDiePie and his companion went on to comment about various podcasts, saying something like “Everyone seems to have a podcast these days.
He decided to focus on the most popular podcast out there, “The Joe Rogan Experience.” It suddenly occurred to him, “I’ve never even given it a listen before.” Upon doing so, he found himself thinking, “Surprisingly, he seems rather unintelligently respectful.
His approach seems to be successful for him, yet it also highlights his lack of intelligence. I came across a meme which depicted him as a caveman, and then he’d introduce a scientist and say something like ‘Now explain fire to me, tell me how it works.’ That’s essentially the gist of his podcast.

He displayed various excerpts from Joe Rogan’s podcast, including Donald Trump’s interview during the 2024 campaign and a comical montage of Joe failing to grasp jokes. “He’s a comedian,” PewDiePie noted, “but it’s quite amusing to see this collection of him not getting the jokes.
PewDiePie calls out various Podcasts
Beyond this critique, he additionally voiced his disapproval towards various individuals for distinct causes. For instance, he argued that certain podcast hosts are careless with sharing unnecessary personal information.
One example shared in the video was a clip of KSI on Sidemen’s podcast Sidecast, in which he revealed he only showers once a week. “Like if you just didn’t have a podcast no one would know about it,” Felix responded.
He mentioned that there have recently appeared a type of podcasts known as “Alpha male” discussions. Although he hadn’t delved into this topic before, he was curious and decided to research what they typically discuss. His friend then jokingly commented: “That’s where you go to squander your intelligence.
As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but share my thoughts on the rising tide of podcasting. It’s intriguing, really, because it seems that many people are discovering their not-so-hidden ordinary side—not everyone has the captivating charm needed to sustain a podcast. Moreover, I’ve noticed a growing dialogue about the potential influence podcasts might be having on our society.
Although Joe Rogan continues to lead as the most popular podcast host, he’s experienced brief setbacks. For instance, in January, the Kelce brothers’ NFL-centric show, New Heights, momentarily surpassed him. Later, in October, even his own guest Shawn Ryan managed to outrank him for a while.
