‘The Chosen’ Season 5 Gets Pre-Easter Theatrical Release Date; Here’s a First Look at ‘Last Supper’

As a devoted follower of “The Chosen” and someone who has eagerly awaited each new season, I couldn’t be more thrilled about Season 5! The unique distribution model, the intriguing storyline, and the exceptional talent behind the scenes make this production truly special. Dallas Jenkins’ dedication to expanding this universe with new projects is simply astounding, and I can’t wait to see what “The Chosen Adventures” or “The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls” will bring!

For its upcoming Season 5, “The Chosen” will have a theatrical premiere prior to its streaming release. As anticipated, the production company responsible for this global phenomenon, 5&2 Studios, will debut “The Chosen: Last Supper” in theaters during the weeks preceding Easter (April 20, 2025). The new season will be distributed in the United States by Fathom and internationally by Trafalgar Releasing.

Beginning March 27, 2025, the U.S. and Canada will roll out “The Chosen: Last Supper” over a four-week period, with Part 1 (episodes 1-2), Part 2 (episodes 3-5), and Part 3 (episodes 6-8) released successively. Following this, on April 10, “The Chosen: Last Supper” Part 1 will be shown in over 40 countries worldwide, including Brazil, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Poland, Philippines, India, and others. The fifth season of the show is expected to premiere on streaming platforms later in 2025.

The unique distribution strategy initiated with the debut of “The Chosen” (encompassing the “The Chosen” app, theaters, traditional broadcasts, and streaming platforms) has persisted. Production for season 5 commenced in April and concluded in July.

As a devoted movie enthusiast, let me share with you the intriguing plotline for “The Chosen: Last Supper”: “I’m about to gather around a table, surrounded by the people of Israel who have hailed me as their king. My disciples are eagerly awaiting my coronation. But instead of challenging Rome, I decide to flip the script at the Jewish religious festival. With their power under threat, the nation’s spiritual and political leaders will stop at nothing to ensure that this Passover meal marks the end of my journey.

Dallas Jenkins, the creator and executive producer of ‘The Chosen,’ expressed his immense enthusiasm about debuting Season 5, stating, “I’m more eager to share Season 5 with the world than any other season we’ve produced thus far.” Unfortunately, it won’t be available until March. This delay is due to its grand scale and the extensive work involved. However, I can hardly contain my excitement to reveal a sneak peek of it with the poster and teaser trailer for our fans.

Earlier this year, Jenkins established 5&2 Studios, and in an exclusive interview with EbMaster, he unveiled his ambitions to broaden “The Chosen” universe through various upcoming projects. Among these projects is “The Chosen Adventures,” an animated series offering a fresh, youthful perspective on the story of Jesus, featuring voice talents like Paul Walter Hauser (“Black Bird”) and Yvonne Orji (“Insecure”). Another project in development is “The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls,” a six-part adventure series set to be filmed this fall. After completing “The Chosen,” Jenkins intends to work on his next major project, a three-season series centered around the life of Moses, where he will serve as writer, director, and showrunner.

Forthcoming seasons of “The Chosen” are planned to delve into the tale of the Crucifixion in Season 6, followed by Season 7 that centers around Jesus’ Resurrection. Each season will comprise eight episodes, and there are plans for a worldwide cinema release featuring extended versions of the Crucifixion and Resurrection episodes.
