Netflix demands infamous Arcane & Squid Game leaker’s identity as legal action begins

As a dedicated anime enthusiast who’s been following the industry for decades, I must say I’m both amused and dismayed by the latest antics of this elusive figure known as Jace Johnson. On one hand, it’s impressive to see such dedication to leaking upcoming shows before their official release, especially considering the risk involved. But on the other hand, it’s downright frustrating for fans like me who eagerly await these series and want to support the creators and studios responsible for them.

Hey there! I can’t help but remember the time when some of my most-anticipated Netflix series like Arcane and Squid Game were leaked a while back. It seems that the streaming platform is now taking legal action to unveil the identities of those who caused harm to these shows, among others.

This August, the complete series lineup for Netflix in 2024 was made available online, starting with “Terminator Zero,” “Dandadan,” and the reboot of “Ranma 1/2” by Mappa.

The situation expanded to involve Arcane Season 2 and Heartstopper Season 3, with hints of leaks for Stranger Things Season 5 not coming to fruition as promised. However, Leaker Jace Johnson eventually admitted guilt, but that didn’t put an end to the complications. Despite using this name, it turns out this isn’t his real identity.

After three months have passed, Netflix is just now initiating its legal proceedings. As reported by the widely recognized X/Twitter account MangaAlerts, “The Northern District of California court has served a subpoena to Discord, requiring them to disclose information about user /jacejohns4n who is suspected of being involved in the Netflix Anime Leaks from August.

Netflix hasn’t been able to stop Jace Johnson leaks

In August, a court in the Northern District of California ordered Discord to disclose details about the user ‘jacejohns4n’, who is suspected of being involved with the Netflix Anime Leaks. (The case number can be found in the attached photos.)

Essentially, the leaks in August weren’t Boris Johnson’s final misstep, and up until now, the streaming service hasn’t been successful in apprehending him. Recently, he has shared an image of Squid Game Season 2 on Discord, but no full episodes have been leaked following this incident.

As a devoted movie enthusiast, I can’t help but reflect on the impact of recent events. Movies like Plankton: The Movie, Jentry Chau Vs. The Underworld, and Spellbound were all significantly affected in the ensuing months. If we’re to trust what’s been shared online, it seems there are further leaks in the pipeline for the future.

During an interview with the enigmatic figure YNGKKR, Johnson shared details about how he obtained confidential information. He claimed that he received leaks because of a colleague who works at a dubbing studio called Iyuno, and he is now strategizing for their upcoming major data leak.

The main point of interest now is if Netflix can intervene quickly enough to prevent another data breach, given that Discord is currently dealing with two different subpoenas – one from the company above and another from South Korean publisher Nexon. These legal requests are intended to disclose information that could assist authorities in identifying and apprehending the leakers.

As a devoted gamer speaking to you today, I’d like to address an unfortunate situation that has arisen. One of the post-production partners we rely on for Netflix gaming content has been breached, and regrettably, some footage from various titles has found its way online. Rest assured, our team is actively working to remove this leaked material.
