As a devoted fan of MrBeast and his extraordinary feats, I eagerly anticipate the grand spectacle that is “Beast Games.” The prospect of witnessing this one-of-a-kind competition series unfold is truly exhilarating! MrBeast’s relentless pursuit of innovation and his ability to captivate audiences with his larger-than-life stunts never cease to amaze me.
In his upcoming show, “Beast Games,” on Amazon’s Prime Video, MrBeast serves as the leader, organizing a competition reminiscent of “Squid Game,” where only one winner takes home $5 million.
The highly-anticipated series called “Beast Games” is set to debut on December 19, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. This Monday, YouTube sensation MrBeast (whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson) shared a sneak peek of the show. He mentioned that he invested over a year in creating this 10-episode competition series which features numerous world records being broken, some of the most extravagant sets ever built in entertainment history, a whopping 1,000 participants, and a staggering $5,000,000 grand prize! MrBeast expressed his excitement by saying that he has put all his effort into this show and you can catch it on Amazon Prime Video starting December 19th. 🙂
The teaser trailer for “Beast Games” shows participants outfitted in blue track suits — each emblazoned with their contestant numbers — reminiscent of Netflix’s South Korean hit “Squid Game.” In a nod to the pink guards in “Squid Game,” the “Beast Games” features assistants outfitted in all-black, face-covering suits. The teaser indicates challenges will involve monster trucks, a pirate ship and jumping out of a helicopter. (Incidentally, Season 2 of “Squid Game” premieres Dec. 26 on Netflix.)
MrBeast shouts to begin the clock, as the shot pans to competitors standing on their own, brightly lit stages within a colosseum.
MrBeast previously attempted to emulate the concept of “Squid Game”: His most-watched YouTube video yet is a 2021 remake of the Netflix program, which recreated elimination challenges from the series and granted the victor a prize of $456,000.
In the “Beast Games” trailer, Donaldson can be spotted slapping hands with competitors, however, not all those involved in the program had a favorable view of the entire experience.
In September, a legal action was initiated against MrBeast, his production company, and Amazon by five anonymous individuals who took part in the first round of “The Beast Games.” The complaint asserts that these contestants were denied essential medical care, food, rest, and basic hygiene facilities; were not compensated according to minimum wage laws and overtime regulations; and were subjected to sexual harassment and hazardous situations. (Both Amazon’s and MrBeast’s representatives have chosen not to comment on the lawsuit.)
As a movie reviewer, I’ve just returned from an exhilarating journey that started at the grand Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where over 2,000 contestants battled it out from July 18-22. The cream of the crop, numbering 1,000 strong, advanced to the next leg of this competition, which unfolded in Toronto during August.
Earlier this year, Amazon gave the go-ahead to a new show, boasting that it would be the world’s most extensive live game show and hold the largest individual prize ever awarded on television or streaming platforms.
At the age of 26, Donaldson boasts an impressive number of 332 million subscribers on his primary YouTube channel, making him the individual creator with the largest following. Known as MrBeast, he has amassed a vast fanbase by creating videos filled with extravagant stunts and generous money giveaways.
