CoD: Black Ops 6 Patch Notes Reveal Movement Change And Warzone Player Count Adjustments

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation as I delve into the latest updates for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The high-mantle speed buff is a welcome change that will undoubtedly enhance the fluidity of movement in both games, making those nail-biting moments even more thrilling.

An update has been rolled out for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone on November 25. The changelog reveals modifications in the mantling movement, enhancements to the Firing Range, and a reduction in the player count for Warzone’s Area 99 map.

Among the significant enhancements in the update, you’ll notice changes in movement mechanics for both Black Ops 6 and Warzone. This modification focuses on enhancing the speed at which players can pull themselves up and over tall barriers such as ledges or walls, a feature now referred to as high-mantle speed. The developers aim to improve the smoothness of player movement while climbing by boosting this speed.

In Black Ops 6, updates have been made to both the Gunsmith and Firing Range functions. Players controlling with a gamepad can now quickly inspect weapons within the Firing Range by tapping the left D-pad twice. Additionally, this update resolves problems with the Gunsmith that hindered proper equipping of Zombies weapon builds, as well as an issue allowing certain weapons to be fitted with nine attachments, which was not intended.

In the game Warzone, the developers have decreased the maximum number of players in matches for the Area 99 Resurgence map.

The updated player counts are reduced as follows:

  • Quads: 44 to 40
  • Trios: 45 to 42
  • Duos: 44 to 40
  • Solos: 45 to 40

Treyarch explains that they’ve made this choice to enhance the rhythm of matches and lessen the occurrence of interactions with external entities. In simpler terms, they aim to streamline gameplay by providing players with ample opportunity to gather resources and equip themselves effectively.

I’m thrilled that the latest update addressed a snag concerning the gas mask in Warzone. Earlier, there was an issue where the unequip animation would appear unexpectedly. Now, players will only witness this animation if they decide to take off the mask voluntarily.

The full patch notes for Black Ops 6 and Warzone can be found below, as shared by Activision.

In related Call of Duty updates, a fresh Black Ops 6 package empowers gamers to assume the role of Shark Operators. Additionally, an extended double XP event has been scheduled for this week, marking the festivities surrounding Black Ops 6’s remarkable debut.

WARZONE PLAYLIST

Following an analysis of our internal statistics, we’ve chosen to tweak the number of players for Area 99, our latest Resurgence game map, just a bit.

  • Trios: 45 → 42
  • Duos: 44 → 40
  • Solos: 45 → 40

The modifications are intended to enhance the rhythm of every game while minimizing unwanted distractions caused by external factors during combat sequences. Our goal is to streamline the experience by striking a harmonious balance between player actions and control, providing players with ample opportunity for looting resources – optimally preparing their equipment or loadout.

In the meantime, we’ll continue monitoring feedback and data to make further adjustments if needed.
