As a seasoned gamer with countless hours clocked in the League of Legends universe, I must admit, 2025 is shaping up to be a truly exhilarating year! The upcoming Season 1 promises to bring a fresh Noxian twist that will undoubtedly spice up our games. The introduction of Atakhan, the epic jungle monster, and the new game mechanics like Feats of Strength and Axiom Arcanist have me buzzing with anticipation.
2025 is rapidly approaching, and with it comes the start of a fresh League of Legends season! The debut of Season 1 is scheduled for January 2025, and Riot Games has already offered a sneak peek at what’s to come, along with their objectives for the entire year.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m excited to share that League of Legends has announced it’ll have three seasons next year, each approximately lasting eight patches, or around sixteen weeks. Each season will feature its own unique theme, and here’s the best part: the developers are planning to roll out “most of the new content” in 2025!
This encompasses fresh champions, game modes, mini-games, and plenty more. Additionally, each season will see the introduction of new themed skins, as well as various others not directly tied to the theme.
In simpler terms, Riot is giving us a sneak peek at League of Legends Season 1, which features a Noxian theme. This season will introduce a fresh epic jungle monster called Atakhan, who appears only once per game around the 20-minute mark. His location on the map – either top or bottom side – is determined by the team with the highest champion damage and kill count within the first 14 minutes of the game.
Once Atakhan appears, Blood Roses will start growing in locations where champions meet their end. You can gather these roses to earn a modest amount of experience and an ongoing bonus called Adaptive Force that accumulates over time.
Apart from this, the season will also introduce new game mechanics, items and runes. These include:
- Feats of Strength: This will give Noxian-themed boot upgrades to the first team who claim two of three objectives, including first blood, first tower, and first three epic jungle monsters. After equipping, your team will get slightly enhanced stats on their tier two boots and unlock a powerful Noxus-themed final upgrade for the boots.
- Bloodletter’s Curse: It will reduce the target’s magic resistance from repeated ability hits.
- Axiom Arcanist: It will be added to Sorcery tree and will make ultimate abilities more powerful.
In a few regions, the Swiftplay feature is set to join League of Legends in January, serving as a possible alternative to Quickplay. Additionally, the reward system is undergoing a transformation, with changes taking effect from Season 1.
By 2025, every season will offer two Battle Passes, boasting a mix of free and premium rewards, with pricing roughly equivalent to that of an Event Pass.
Beginning next year, there’ll be one major reset happening in January for all players. They’d have the opportunity to accumulate three Victorious skins across the year by winning 15 Ranked matches during each season.
To round things off, there’s a good chance that multiplayer mode will be incorporated into the Practice Tool as we approach Season 1. This functionality is set to undergo testing on our Public Beta Environment (PBE) client initially, and if all checks out, it will roll out globally.
