Theo Von and David Spade to Self-Finance ‘Busboys’ Movie

As a movie buff with a penchant for comedy and a soft spot for 90s sitcom stars, I find myself rather intrigued by the upcoming project of David Spade and Theo Von, titled “Busboys.” Both gentlemen have had quite an interesting journey in the entertainment industry, from stand-up to SNL, reality TV, and now podcasting.

David Spade has a new partner who’s tall by his side. He and Theo Von are penning, acting in, directing, producing, and funding a comedy titled “Busboys“. In a statement, Spade said they’re eager to share this unrequested comedy with everyone. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will feature Von and Spade as friends living in an Arizona border town who think that working as waiters will solve all their issues.

Initially, both Spade and Von found their footing in the heart of entertainment; Spade through stand-up comedy and SNL, while Von on Road Rules. However, a significant portion of their current time is dedicated to podcasting. In particular, Von has garnered considerable attention during the election, as he was one of the podcasters Trump appeared on during his campaign. His “This Past Weekend” podcast ranks fifth on Spotify. Spade, along with his SNL buddy Dana Carvey, hosts a podcast titled “Fly on the Wall.

Filming starts in Los Angeles (standing in for Arizona) in January. This raises a question about whether Spade and Theo Von won’t be able to attend the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary special or if they will find a way to fit it into their schedule, respectively, concerning the inauguration.
