As a seasoned movie buff with over three decades of television viewing under my belt, I must say that NBC’s upcoming winter and midseason lineup has me truly excited! The revival of “Suits LA” is a much-anticipated event for many, including myself, and the 50th anniversary special of “Saturday Night Live” promises to be an unforgettable celebration.
NBC has scheduled a February debut for “Suits LA,” the sequel to the popular series “Suits,” as well as a date in February for its special event celebrating “Saturday Night Live’s” 50th anniversary. As part of their winter and midseason schedule reveal, they have also planned a ten-part documentary series titled “The Americas,” with Tom Hanks narrating, and the return of Adam Levine (accompanied by Kelsea Ballerini) as judges on “The Voice.
Additionally, here are two upcoming shows: “The Hunting Party,” featuring Melissa Roxburgh (“Manifest”), and the soap mystery series “Grosse Pointe Garden Society,” created by Jenny Bans and Bill Krebs.
According to NBC’s announcement, the show “Suits LA” will be broadcast every Sunday at 9 p.m. Eastern Time starting from February 23. This follows a two-hour premiere of “The Americas”, which shifts to its regular 8 p.m. slot the following week. The network is taking a risk by scheduling a new show for Sundays after football, as they are hoping viewers will be interested in the revival of “Suits”. Another freshman drama titled “Gross Pointe Garden Society” will also debut on February 23 at 10 p.m.
This coming weekend, from the 12th through the 14th of February, the 50th anniversary of “SNL” will be celebrated in a series of events, culminating in a live primetime special on Sunday, February 16th.
Every Monday evening, starting at 8 pm, the show “Brilliant Minds” featuring freshman students will be broadcast. At 9 pm, “The Voice” returns with Levine and Ballerini joining the panel opposite John Legend and Michael Bublé. Lastly, airing at 10 pm is a new series called “The Hunting Party”, which follows a special team of investigators hunting down dangerous criminals who have escaped from an unacknowledged top-secret prison.
