As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia tinged with excitement upon hearing about Steel Century Groove. The Post-Post-Apocalypse setting is a fresh take on the genre, and the idea of dance battles using repurposed war machines is nothing short of ingenious!

Today, I’m thrilled to announce that Sloth Gloss Games unveiled Steel Century Groove – an exhilarating blend of RPG and rhythm gaming, where you control mechas in dance-off battles against rivals in the Post-Post-Apocalypse! This groovy game will be stepping onto PC via Steam around 2025. Alongside the game’s unveiling, they’ve also released a trailer to give us a sneak peek: I can hardly wait to get my dance-off on!

In the Era Beyond the Apocalypse, humans no longer require their war machines built to save the world. Instead, they have reimagined these machines for competitive dance battles. You can assemble a squad of distinct Lanzers, each with their unique dance equipment, to challenge opponents and strive to be crowned the global dance champion. The game Steel Century Groove is set for release on PC next year.

In Steel Century Groove, you’ll gather a team of mechanical dancers, take on every competitor you encounter, vie for the championship cup, and discover the mysteries of a realm where all moves in rhythm with steel-clad footsteps.

Features:

Groove to the built-in soundtrack or bring your own MP3s.

In contrast to typical rhythm games, Steel Century Groove doesn’t require you to hit a specific button for every note. Instead, you select the optimal actions to outmaneuver your competitor.

Each mechanical unit possesses its distinct collection of actions, each with specific workings and requirements. For beginners, a basic mechanical unit focuses on resource management and consumption, whereas advanced units demand strategies like managing an army of drones or juggling cards in a miniature card-building game.
