‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Live-Action Trailer: Hiccup and Toothless Come to Life After Hit Animated Trilogy

As a lifelong fan who grew up with the enchanting world of Berk and its inhabitants, I can barely contain my excitement! The live-action adaptation of “How to Train Your Dragon” is not just a movie, but a nostalgic journey back to my childhood. The trailer brings back memories of the original trilogy that sparked my imagination and fueled my love for storytelling.

Hiccup and Toothless are finally in live-action for the first time ever.

As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just caught wind of Universal Studios unveiling the initial trailer for their live-action rendition of “How to Train Your Dragon.” This exciting development follows the beloved DreamWorks Animation trilogy, which graced our screens in the 2010s. Mark your calendars, fellow movie enthusiasts, as this breathtaking adaptation soars into theaters on June 13!

In the live-action adaptation, several original characters are portrayed by fresh actors. For instance, Mason Thames from “The Black Phone” takes on the role of Hiccup, while Nico Parker, who appeared in “Dumbo” and “The Last of Us,” plays Astrid. Julian Dennison, known for his work in “Deadpool 2”, steps into the shoes of Fishlegs Ingerman. Interestingly, Gerard Butler, who previously voiced Stoick the Vast in the animated trilogy, now portrays Hiccup’s father in this new version.

In this rephrased version, I’ll share it from the perspective of someone expressing excitement about the movie:

Dean DeBlois, who crafted both the script and direction for all three animated “How to Train Your Dragon” films, holds similar duties for the upcoming live-action adaptation. The DreamWorks film franchise encompasses the initial 2010 release of “How to Train Your Dragon”, followed by “How to Train Your Dragon 2” in 2014 and “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” in 2019, all based on the book series penned by Cressida Cowell. In these movies, we follow a young man named Hiccup who discovers a wounded dragon he eventually names Toothless while rescuing it from confinement on the Isle of Berk, home to a band of vikings. The franchise has expanded beyond films, incorporating three television series, theme park attractions, and a live stage show titled “How to Train Your Dragon on Ice.” Collectively, this series has amassed over $1.6 billion globally.
