An Assassin's Creed Game From Nearly A Decade Ago Is Getting A 60fps Patch

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when I hear about Assassin’s Creed Syndicate getting a 60fps update. I remember vividly playing it back in 2015, exploring the sprawling streets of London during the Industrial Revolution, and switching between Jacob and Evie to suit different situations.

In 2015, the game Assassin’s Creed Syndicate was initially launched. Soon, gamers can enjoy playing it smoothly at 60 frames per second on modern gaming systems, as Ubisoft has revealed they will be providing a free update for this purpose.

The update is scheduled for November 19th. For players using modern consoles, it boosts the game’s frame rates twice, and offers 4K resolution support for Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, or the latest PS5 Pro. On PlayStation systems, the update is roughly 0.75 GB, while Xbox users should expect a larger update of approximately 32 GB.

Ubisoft failed to provide an explanation as to why this update is arriving after almost a decade, yet they invited gamers to explore or revisit this timeless game on the latest console generations.

The game, titled Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, is positioned in London during the Industrial Era. It marked a significant shift in the series by allowing players to select from two distinct lead characters – twin siblings, Jacob and Evie Frye. Jacob shines in close-quarters combat, while Evie has a knack for stealth, offering players the flexibility to pick a character that aligns with their preferred playstyle or is more suitable for specific mission types. Syndicate represents the ninth installment in the extended Ubisoft series and served as the sequel to the 2014 release, Assassin’s Creed Unity, which faced criticism at launch due to its abundance of (often amusing) bugs.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share the latest update on Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the upcoming installment in the series set in feudal Japan. Due to the slightly lower than anticipated response to Ubisoft’s previous grand open-world adventure, Star Wars Outlaws, they’ve decided to postpone the release of Shadows to ensure a smoother and more enhanced gaming experience. Originally planned for November 2023, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is now set to grace our screens on February 14, 2025.
