Free-to-Play Star Wars The Old Republic Set to Get Massive Boost in Major Update. New Missions Will Revive Old Planets

As a longtime fan of Star Wars: The Old Republic, I’m absolutely thrilled about the upcoming 7.6 update! The prospect of dynamic events and unique missions on Hoth and Tatooine has me buzzing like a Tauntaun in a sandstorm. The fact that they plan to expand this feature to other planets is just the icing on the lightsaber cake.

Next month marks the 13th anniversary of the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic. Remarkably, even at this mature stage within the gaming industry, the game continues to evolve. Its developers have recently unveiled their roadmap for the upcoming months. Notably, they plan to roll out a significant update named 7.6 as early as December.

  1. As part of this patch, the developers want to refresh the planets. A new boss will appear on Hoth. Additionally, on this planet and on Tattoine, dynamic events with unique missions will be introduced to bring these locations to life. The future plans include implementing dynamic events on other worlds as well.
  2. The 7.6 update will also bring improvements to the lighting and textures of various environmental elements on the planets Tython, Korriban, Hoth, and Ilum. The appearance of the player characters will also be improved.
  3. Furthermore, the virtual store will offer extra items, including quarters and costumes inspired by the Star Wars series, such as the Skeleton Crew.
  4. There are also plans to continue the main storyline, but the devs are still missing some key elements, so we won’t learn anything about that until 2025.

The Old Republic for free, but it also includes additional in-game purchases called microtransactions. This space epic can only be enjoyed on a computer.

However, due to the team’s shift in focus towards other projects, they relinquished control of this game to Broadsword Online Games last year. Simultaneously, about half of the original development team behind this project moved on to a new studio.
