As a dedicated fan who has spent countless hours binge-watching YouTube content, I can’t help but feel drawn into this intriguing saga unfolding between MrBeast and Dawson French. The lengthy video by Soggy Cereal serves as a captivating deep dive into the accusations made against one of my favorite creators.
On November 16, YouTube personality Soggy Cereal published a detailed video, aiming to refute the allegations leveled against him by ex-employee of MrBeast, Dawson French.
In August, a user named French, using the username DogPack404 on YouTube, posted three videos, two of which remain available. The third video was removed from the channel. This individual accused MrBeast of manipulating competitions, tolerating sexual harassment, fabricating content, and many other misdeeds.
Together, these two videos have garnered more than 25 million views at this point in time. Their content has sparked a series of discussions between the legal representatives of both parties.
In this rephrasing, I’ve attempted to maintain the original meaning while making it more readable and natural:
In one of French’s videos, Jake Weddle commented that Delaware, who appears in MrBeast’s videos, wears a mask to conceal their identity. Soggy Cereal then shared messages from current MrBeast staff member Dustin Harris, indicating that Delaware was merely a local Best Buy manager whom Jimmy, MrBeast, discovered and employed.
As a gamer, I figured if BestBuy trusted me with an assistant manager role at one of their stores, then maybe I had what it takes to run my own YouTube channel. Harris went on to say that the nickname “Delaware” wasn’t bestowed upon us by MrBeast; instead, it was a moniker we were known by during our time at Best Buy.
In a conversation, Soggy Cereal talked with a previous employee of MrBeast named Garret Niconienko. He disclosed that their comments about Delaware, altered for anonymity in French’s videos, were secretly recorded without his consent. Essentially, these comments were just casual discussions similar to what people might talk about at the water cooler.
In response to allegations of manipulated contests, Soggy Cereal claimed that French may have neglected to include descriptions in MrBeast’s livestream videos about the competitions, which clearly stated that free entry was accessible on their website. The only conditions for entering were that participants had to be 18 years old or older and reside in the United States to qualify as winners.
As a devoted fan, I find myself aligning with French’s assertions regarding MrBeast’s alleged conduct of an unlawful lottery. The crux of the issue appears to be the absence of a ‘no purchase necessary’ disclaimer in the video description, which seems to suggest that the event was indeed illegal. It appears that Jimmy needs to acknowledge this and take responsibility for any oversights or errors in his actions.
Without a doubt, one of the standout parts in Soggy Cereal’s video occurred near the midpoint, where French was heard passionately appealing to Lacoya Hill, who was then the COO of MrBeast, to retain his position at the company.
French expresses, “I’m attempting to leave my position here, but I wish to stay with the company.” However, Hill intervenes, saying, “As the COO of this firm, if I’m speaking, please don’t interrupt. I’m informing you that this is the situation, and you’re contradicting me. But I assure you, I am not mistaken. I have made this decision.
Thank you for that. May I be given another opportunity? However, let’s discuss the potential of staying with the company while transitioning to a new department.” In French: “Merci pour ça. Pouvez-je obtenir une seconde chance ? Cependant, pouvons-nous discuter de la possibilité de rester dans l’entreprise et d’être transféré vers un autre département ?” Ensuite, Hill répond : “Cela ne sera pas possible.
Towards the conclusion of the video, Cereal engaged in conversations with several members of MrBeast’s team, among them was Emily, who played a direct role in brainstorming ideas alongside French within the company’s creative team.
She mentioned that she and Dawson got along well, but noted that despite his efforts to maintain a professional atmosphere, he appeared somewhat indifferent towards his coworkers. She went on to say that he gave off strange vibes which made her feel uneasy working in the office with him.
Currently, there’s no response from French on Soggy Cereal’s video published on the DogPack404 YouTube channel or his Twitter account, as of my last check.
