As a seasoned movie buff with over three decades of cinematic adventures under my belt, I must say that the news of Zack Snyder‘s new project for Netflix has certainly piqued my interest! Having grown up on the gritty, character-driven cop dramas of yesteryear, I can’t help but be intrigued by this untitled action film centered around the LAPD.
Zack Snyder will be directing a new movie for Netflix, focusing on the Los Angeles Police Department.
Snyder, along with his regular partner Kurt Johnstad, is penning the screenplay for the as-yet unnamed action movie. They’ve previously worked together on projects like “300” and “Atomic Blonde”.
The initiative, still in its formative stages at the production company, is being developed under the guidance of Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, and Wesley Coller, who are responsible for its creation at Stone Quarry.
In a life-or-death environment, a top-tier LAPD team faces the harsh clash between justice and ethical dilemmas, as depicted in the movie’s tagline.
This is the fourth project, following “Rebel Moon” and its sequel “Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver,” that Stone Quarry has collaborated on with Netflix under their creative partnership. Previously, they have also produced “Army of the Dead” and “Army of Thieves” for Netflix. In September 2024, the animated series “Twilight of the Gods” was released.
A while back, Dan Lin and I discussed our mutual passion for crafting a gripping, emotional narrative centered around a captivating character within the intricate, dynamic, and fascinating environment of the LAPD. This conversation left quite an impression on me. Therefore, it’s no surprise that I am thrilled to now be working with Dan, as well as my exceptional team at Netflix, in bringing this story to life.
The Hollywood Reporter was first to report the news.
