As a long-time fan of Call of Duty, I can’t help but feel a tad disheartened by the changes in the Battle Pass system for Black Ops 6 and Warzone. For years, I’ve been accustomed to earning extra CoD Points from completing the Battle Pass, only to find out that this time around, I’ll only be getting enough to purchase the next one.
Players of Black Ops 6 and Warzone have expressed disappointment upon discovering that the Season 1 Battle Pass provides fewer Call of Duty Points compared to past seasons.
The latest update for Seasons 1 is now live in both Black Ops 6 and Warzone! This exciting update introduces the new Area 99 map and some fresh firepower like the Saug SMG. What’s more, it marks the debut of a shared Battle Pass across the two games, offering players plenty of rewards to earn.
Once again, the Battle Pass is brimming with skins, blueprints, charms, and a host of other items. Additionally, certain tiers grant Call of Duty Points that can be used in the shop; however, there are fewer of these this season compared to what players have grown accustomed to.
As a dedicated fan, I’m excited to share that by finishing the entire pass, you can accumulate a total of 1,100 Call of Duty Points! That’s a decrease of 300 compared to Modern Warfare 3 days. While this is enough to acquire the next Battle Pass, there won’t be any extra points left over for other cosmetics unless you decide to invest additional funds from your own pocket.
As a devoted player, I used to grind through each tier in a season to secure the following Battle Pass for free and save any extra points to later purchase a bundle or Blueprint. But, things have changed significantly starting from Season 1 – now, this approach no longer applies.
When my go-to gaming hub, CharlieIntel, dropped the bomb, the comments section went wild with gamers voicing their disapproval.
With the debut of Black Ops 6’s initial Battle Pass, Activision is now returning 1,100 Call of Duty Points to players within the Pass, a decrease from the previous 1,400 Points. This means that the Battle Pass no longer provides enough Points for additional store items like it did before; instead, it only covers the cost of the next Pass.

“This is unreasonable for those who aren’t employed,” commented one person, while another remarked: “It’s amazing how large corporations, already earning immense profits, find ways to generate even more by doing things that seem unnecessary.
It’s not yet clear why this change occurred as it hasn’t been formally disclosed, but with Black Ops 6 appearing on Xbox Game Pass, some enthusiasts hypothesized that this might have played a role in the decision.
Some considered it fair as they wouldn’t be significantly deprived of Call of Duty Points and could still obtain the Season 2 Battle Pass without cost, yet others persisted in labeling it “miserly.
There’s a silver lining too: Alongside the Season 1 update came The Armory, an exciting feature that allows players to continue unlocking specific Battle Pass items even after their expiration date.
