Battlefield 6, the much-anticipated game from EA, has launched and quickly become a hit on Steam. Within the first half-hour of release, over 500,000 people were playing simultaneously, according to Steam’s numbers. Currently, only the free-to-play games Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2 have more players online.
At press time, Battlefield 6 stands at more than 606,000 concurrent players on Steam.
Battlefield 6 had a huge launch, with one expert estimating almost 2 million preorders and over $100 million in revenue before it even came out. And just since we started writing this, the game has gained over 100,000 new players on Steam!
As a huge Battlefield fan, I’m keeping a close eye on how many people are jumping into Battlefield 6! TopMob is promising to keep this post updated as the player count goes up, especially since it’s a long weekend here in the US with a holiday on Monday. It’s exciting to see so many people playing!
Battlefield 6 is also playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Unlike Steam, which provides current player counts, Sony and Microsoft don’t publicly share that information.
Battlefield 6 servers seem to be handling the large number of players connecting so far. To manage the high demand, players are currently being put in queues. For the latest updates, you can save TopMob’s Battlefield 6 server status page.
You can find more details in TopMob’s review of Battlefield 6, and we’ve also put together some helpful tips to get you started. Despite a strong launch, most experts predict Battlefield 6 won’t sell as many copies as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
