Call Of Duty: Warzone Season 1 Stealthily Removes One Of The Most Hated Weapons

As a seasoned Call of Duty veteran with over a decade of gaming under my belt, I must say that the removal of the riot shield from Warzone is like a breath of fresh air in a gas mask-filled battlefield. The shield was always a thorn in my side, turning every encounter into an infuriating game of whack-a-mole. But alas, no more!

In the game “Call of Duty,” the Season 1 update for Warzone is now active, introducing complete integration with Black Ops 6. This includes fast-paced movement options (omnimovement), access to all weapons in the game, a traditional Prestige system for leveling up, and extra features. Additionally, this update discreetly eliminates one of Call of Duty’s most irritating weapons from the game.

The riot shield is a loadout weapon that’s received a lot of hate over the years, as the bullet-deflecting shield is a frustrating weapon to counter in both multiplayer and Warzone. However, players have quickly noticed that the riot shield is gone in Warzone.

Black Ops 6 doesn’t feature a riot shield among its arsenal, however, weapons from Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 were incorporated into Call of Duty’s Carry Forward plan for the game’s integration with Warzone. When customizing loadouts, players have access to all firearms and melee weapons across the three games, but it appears that the riot shield from Modern Warfare 2 is the only exception.

In simple terms, the patch notes for Season 1 do not mention the elimination of the riot shield, which leaves us unsure whether this was a deliberate choice or if it was inadvertently omitted during the integration of Black Ops 6.

Since the riot shield was present at the beginning of Warzone, it’s safe to assume that many players are celebrating its absence. However, there might also be some enthusiasts who are sad because they relied on their riot-shield tactics and strategies.

In Season 1 of Warzone, we’ve introduced a fresh map called Area 99 Resurgence, along with an exclusive Mastery camo grind system for the first time. This season’s battle pass offers over 100 items to uncover, such as the new Krig C assault rifle and Saug submachine gun.
