As an experienced gamer with a knack for delving into the intricacies of role-playing games, I must say that Square Enix has always been a pioneer in crafting immersive worlds and engaging narratives. However, their latest remaster, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, seems to have hidden its Bestiary in a labyrinth of menus.
In contrast to some contemporary remasters and remakes from Square Enix, like the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series, the Bestiary -a comprehensive resource of the monsters you’ve vanquished and additional information- is less conspicuously located. To access the main Bestiary data, you need to navigate through FIVE successive menus, and this guide will walk you through the process.
1 – Open up your main menu and select “Misc.”
2 – Select “Info”
3 – Next, “Defeated Monster List”
4 – This will get you a bare-bones rudimentary list of enemies, but for more details – and the true Bestiary – select a monster
5 – You have found the Bestiary! You can cycle through the entries from here too, so no need to return to the previous screen.
As a devoted fan, discovering the secret location is a breeze once you’ve found it, but I can’t help but wish there was an easier access option, perhaps within the Misc. menu itself.
