As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of Pokemon trading card game (TCG) experience under my belt, I must say the announcement of the long-awaited trading feature in Pokemon TCG Pocket has brought both excitement and a touch of apprehension.
As an excited Pokémon TCG Pocket enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the developers have finally given us a release date for the highly anticipated trading feature! But, here’s the twist – there’s a significant condition attached to it.
The Pokemon TCG Pocket version has been creating quite a buzz among fans. It’s an innovative digital adaptation of the classic card game, offering exclusive and scarcely found designs, combat strategies, and more captivating elements. Remarkably, although it boasts numerous engaging features, one fundamental aspect – trading – is currently absent from the gameplay experience.
Generally speaking, trading is a significant aspect in any Pokémon adventure. It enables you to exchange unwanted cards, thereby enhancing your decks by adding necessary items, scarce finds, and so on.
It’s great news that the developers of the Pokemon TCG Pocket have confirmed the addition of trading in the game, but it seems there’s a significant condition attached.
I’m stoked! The developers just dropped a bombshell on their new platform (used to be Twitter) on November 13th, 2024, saying that trading will kick off at the start of the New Year! Can’t wait to get my game on!
Hello there! It’s a pleasure to be here and I’m excited to pass on some exciting news from the Pokemon TCG Pocket team. They’ve got some updates in store for us in the coming months, so stay tuned for more information as it unfolds!

The creators of the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket have hinted at introducing a new feature that lets specific cards be traded, with plans starting from January 2025. Although they haven’t specified an exact launch date yet, they assured us they will share more information about this exciting update as soon as they finalize the dates for additional features.
This development brings a thrilling twist to the game, but it won’t mean that every card can be exchanged right away.
Developers mentioned their intention to progressively increase the variety of tradeable cards over time. However, at present, it remains undetermined which specific cards will or won’t become tradeable once the new feature becomes available.
Initially, trading is expected to focus only on the original Pokémon cards found within the Genetic Apex packs upon release. As for the future, restrictions might be applied according to the cards’ scarcity or rarity.
Alongside the forthcoming trade feature, we’re anticipating the release of new booster packs towards the end of 2024. Furthermore, other exciting features are scheduled to debut simultaneously with trading in January.
