As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that this partnership between World of Warcraft and the University of Washington is an absolute game-changer! It’s not every day you get to see college football teams adopting the names of iconic video games like WoW.
Switch places, College Football 25: it’s World of Warcraft’s time to team up with college athletes in an unexpected collaboration. Blizzard has revealed a fresh partnership with the University of Washington, transforming the university into the University of Warcraft for a week prior to the Washington Huskies’ home game against UCLA.
On Friday, UW Football is joining forces with World of Warcraft (WoW) to deliver an exclusive in-stadium event. Fans can anticipate WoW mascots leading the team onto the field, a fan zone where you can meet characters from the game, and special visuals on the stadium screens. Blizzard has unveiled a unique logo for their University of Warcraft collaboration, and they’re promising even more exclusive World of Warcraft-themed graphics before the match.

I’m thrilled to share that as a devoted fan, I’m excited to learn that Blizzard is bringing some of the Washington Huskies team into their fold for the upcoming project. They’ve signed NIL deals with players like Carson Bruener, Denzel Boston, Jonah Coleman, Camden Simon, Adam Mohammad, Kamren Fabiculanan, Jacob Lane, Cameron Broussard, D’Angalo Titialli, Demond Williams Jr., and Will Rodgers. You’ll see them promoting the Warcraft takeover on their social media platforms. It’s unclear at this point if they’ll be making an appearance within the game itself, but I can hardly wait to find out!
Prepare for an extraordinary stadium event as the University of Washington Football hosts its final home game! It’s time to show your Husky pride with #GoHuskies and #UWarcraft. The evening will be as mesmerizing as a Friday night under Montlake, as we welcome the Eclipse. 🌑
