Pokemon TCG Pocket player discovers the game’s insane damage cap

As a seasoned Pokemon TCG enthusiast with decades of card-flipping under my belt, I must say, the latest Pokemon TCG Pocket game has me completely captivated! The sheer excitement of cracking packs and chasing after the rarest cards is akin to finding a shiny Pikachu in the wild.

As a die-hard Pokémon TCG enthusiast, I must admit that the damage cap can be quite formidable. Achieving such high damage requires strategic teamwork or an extraordinary stroke of luck with those all-important coin flips!

The brand-new Pokemon TCG Pocket app is captivating countless individuals, surpassing the daily income of Pokemon Go swiftly. With more than 30 million downloads, this app has become a sensation that falls short of description.

Globally, individuals are opening packs with the aim of obtaining the most elusive cards and expanding their collections, while some seek defining creatures for the competitive aspect. Interestingly, Alakazam, which is sometimes underestimated, might be the best card in the game when considering numerical data alone.

A Pokemon TCG Pocket player has tested the limits of the game to discover its absurd damage cap. The key ingredients are the aforementioned Alakazam and a tonne of Energy to hit for a whopping 990 damage.

As a fellow gamer, I conducted a test on the Pokémon Trading Card Game (PTCG) in a private battle with another player, and shared my findings on the Pocket subreddit of Reddit, known as Lonk_From_Hirool.

Reaching the 990 damage limit largely depends on Alakazam’s Psychic ability, as it deals 60 base damage, with an additional 30 damage for every Energy card connected to your opponent’s active Pokémon.

On the other side of the field, thier testing partner used Moltres EX’s Inferno Dance ability to stack a benched Motres EX with a ridiculous 37 Fire Energy.

After changing to the overcharged Moltres EX, Alakazam would have dealt 1,170 points of damage, but it seems that the damage inflicted by Pokemon TCG Pocket is limited to a maximum of 990.

I’m sorry that you weren’t able to achieve the target of 1,000 units, despite having ample resources to handle any card in the game. However, you have qualified, which is still a significant achievement.

A positive point to note is that it’s possible to reach the maximum damage of 990 during battle without any assistance, but this would require the extremely unlikely event of the “completely overpowered” Misty Trainer card landing on heads in a coin toss 31 times consecutively. Few people are willing to endure those lengthy animation sequences.
