How to fix Black Ops 6 rank loss bug: Players knocked down to Level 1

As a seasoned Call of Duty veteran with countless hours spent grinding levels and mastering weapons, it’s safe to say that this Black Ops 6 XP glitch has sent me reeling. I was cruising towards Master Prestige when suddenly, poof! All my hard-earned progress vanished, leaving me back at square one. It’s like someone opened a time rift and sucked all the XP out of my game, right before my very eyes!

Many players of Black Ops 6 find themselves puzzled when, unexpectedly, large amounts of experience points (XP) are subtracted from their accounts, causing them to drop back to level 1 without any apparent cause.

Players are just starting out with Black Ops Cold War (BO6), yet the rate of leveling up is as demanding as it gets for them, in their eagerness to reach Master Prestige and acquire the coveted Dark Matter camouflage.

In the modern gaming scene, it’s become standard practice for players to enhance their weapons before a major Warzone deployment. The goal is usually to equip their freshly minted firearms with every possible attachment. This way, they can quickly adjust to the continually evolving metagame of battle royale.

During this period, there’s an issue occurring that’s driving players up the wall. They complete a game, but instead of gaining experience points, they lose a substantial amount, often reducing them back to Level 1. This has left many pulling their hair out in frustration.

I hit level 50 tonight. I just lost connection and when I reconnected, it SUBTRACTED all of my XP and now I’m level 1 again.

Fortunately if you are affected by this bug, the fix is a very easy one.

To get back to the point where you’re supposed to be, all you need is to start the game over from scratch, and it should take you back there.

There’s a very small chance that your rank will remain permanently lowered, as we haven’t come across any instances where this has happened yet. So, don’t worry, everything should work out for you in the end.

There’s a chance that the developers at Treyarch may address this issue in the Season 1 update. However, since the glitch appears to be rather minor, they might choose to focus on more critical matters for now.

In Season 1, we’ll primarily be exploring the integration of Black Ops 6 Warzone, a significant development that includes the introduction of Omnimovement to the Call of Duty battle royale game, the unveiling of a fresh Area 99 map, and additional features.
