As a seasoned TikToker with over a decade of digital artistry under my belt, I can confidently say that the latest trend sweeping the platform is none other than the Lego name filter! Having dabbled in everything from the Emoji Name and Bouquet filters, I was intrigued to see how this one would stack up.
Users of TikTok are trying out a filter that transforms their names into custom Lego figurines, but some are having trouble locating the filter within the app.
Recently, personalized filters using names have gained immense popularity on TikTok. Some of the top favorites include the “Emoji Name” filter and the “Name as Bouquet” effect.
On the platform, there’s a new trend sweeping up – customizing Lego characters with usernames. Users are now crafting distinctive and individual Lego figurines using their own names.
Two distinct types of filters exist; one, often referred to as the “masculine” filter, generates figures with a more masculine appearance, while the other, known as the “feminine” filter, produces figures with a more feminine aesthetic.
As I’m typing this up, it seems the feminine variant of the filter is really catching on, boasting an impressive 18,300 videos, while the masculine version currently trails behind with just 614 videos in circulation.
How to find the Lego name filter
On the TikTok app, you can instantly apply the “Name-as-Lego” filter without hassle, but locating it might seem tricky if you’re unsure where to search. Here’s a simple guide on how to access it:
- Open the TikTok app.
- Tap on the plus button at the bottom of the screen to open the camera.
- At the bottom of the screen, swipe right to get to the filters.
- From here, tap on “All effects” below the record button. This will open up the filter page.
- Type ‘Name as Lego’ into the search bar at the top.
- Tap on the male or female version of the filter. This will determine if your Lego character will be more masculine or feminine.
- This will take you back to the camera, where the filter will now have been added.
- Start filming to activate the filter.
- While holding down the filming button, write your name out on the filter to see your unique Lego character come to life.
Open the filter page
Navigate to the TikTok application on your device, then hit the ‘+’ button at its base. Once you’re in the recording interface, slide your finger horizontally to access filters. You’ll notice a button labeled “All effects” below the camera button – tap that to open the page containing various effects.
Up at the very top of your screen, you’ll find a search box that allows you to look for the specific filter you need.
Search for the Lego name filter
Once you’ve accessed the filter section, look for the “Lego Name Filter” in the search bar located at the top of your screen.
Here are two choices for you: one option presents a gender-specific effect, making the image appear more masculine, and the other option adjusts the appearance to look more feminine.
Create your Lego figurine
After applying the filter, you’ll be directed back to the camera for recording. To begin using the customizable Lego figure, just press record and start filming.
