As a long-time GeForce Now user who has spent countless hours immersed in the digital worlds of my favorite games, I must admit that I was taken aback by Nvidia’s recent announcement regarding changes to their service. Starting from 2025, new subscribers will be capped at 100 hours per month, a limit that seems rather restrictive for a cloud streaming service.
Beginning in 2025, there will be significant modifications to Nvidia’s widely used GeForce Now cloud gaming service. One key adjustment is the implementation of a monthly playtime limit, starting from January 1 for new subscribers, who will be restricted to 100 hours of gaming streaming per month.
The changes were announced on Nvidia’s official blog, which also revealed that Priority membership is being renamed Performance. The price tier for Performance will remain the same as Priority, with new support for 1440p resolution streaming, ultrawide resolution, and the option to save graphics settings across all streaming sessions.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share some good news about GeForce Now! If you’re already a subscriber or join before the end of 2024, you won’t feel the impact of the 100-hour streaming limit until January 1, 2026. That’s plenty of time for endless gaming sessions! Interestingly, Nvidia shares that only 6% of its subscribers go over the 100-hour mark.
Nvidia has implemented a limit of 100 hours to prevent raising membership fees for an extended period. As a special offer, they’re providing a 25% discount on Ultimate and Performance day passes until November 22. These day passes can be upgraded to monthly or six-month subscriptions, which also ensure unlimited access without the 100-hour limitation until the end of the subscription period.
