New Buckshot Roulette Update adds Multiplayer, Now You Can Join Friends

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can say that the latest update to Buckshot Roulette has truly revitalized this indie horror gem. The addition of multiplayer mode takes an already exhilarating experience and elevates it to new heights.

2023 saw the debut of Buckshot Roulette on itch.io, a game that made waves again when it was released on Steam in April 2024. Initially, it offered a single-player mode where I faced off against an AI antagonist in a chilling twist on Russian roulette. As you could surmise, the concept translated brilliantly to multiplayer. The development team behind this title also recognized its potential for multiplayer gameplay.

Multiplayer in Buckshot Roulette Explained

Just a few days back, there was a massive update for Buckshot Roulette, and it’s brought something exciting – multiplayer! Now, when you boot up the game, you’ll find a snazzy new option inviting you to team up with friends. In this mode, you can extend invites to as many as three gaming buddies!

When you click on “Multiplayer”, you will end up in a dedicated menu. Now you have two options:

  1. You can host the multiplayer session, by clicking “Host table”. Next, you must invite max three other players, specify number of rounds and decide whether to skip the intro.
  2. You can also join your friends’ session. To do this, you must click on “Join with lobby ID” and paste a special code or accept invitation.

Before the update, multiplayer was already thoroughly tested, so significant problems shouldn’t arise. Nevertheless, one of the latest reports on Steam forum mentioned encountering a black screen after winning a round. Unfortunately, we don’t have a solution for this issue just yet. If you happen to experience it, try some common troubleshooting steps like restarting the game or updating your graphics card drivers.
