Square Enix Plans To "Simultaneously" Release Its Titles On Every Platform, Claims Final Fantasy Producer

As a long-time fan of Square Enix and Final Fantasy games, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anticipation hearing Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida’s latest comments about potentially bringing more Square Enix titles to multiple platforms, including Xbox consoles.

In a recent interview, renowned producer Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida expressed plans at publisher Square Enix to expand their games’ availability across various platforms. Yoshi-P mentioned his desire for more and more Square Enix titles to be playable on multiple systems, and he expressed optimism about Final Fantasy 16 potentially being released on Xbox consoles in the future.

Earlier this year, Yoshi-P expressed a desire for Final Fantasy to appear on Xbox consoles, and by September 2024, it had made its way onto PC. This indicates that competition between their games, referred to as “cannibalization,” is suspected to be the cause of these disappointing results.
