Is Terrifier Coming To Dead By Daylight?

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the Terrifier x Dead by Daylight collaboration has been a long-awaited dream for many fans, including myself. The recent release of Terrifier 3 only served to stoke the flames of anticipation even further.

Fans have been eagerly requesting a collaboration between Terrifier and Dead by Daylight for quite some time now. The excitement for the villain has grown even stronger following the release of Terrifier 3 earlier this month. Given that the timing appears more advantageous than ever, could we possibly see the infamous character of Art the Clown from Terrifier in Dead by Daylight soon?

It appears that, as per some statements made by Terrifier 2 director Steven Barton on X/Twitter, the long-anticipated Dead by Daylight collaboration may not be happening at this time. However, Barton has left open the possibility that it could occur in the future, as both parties have shown interest in the project. Despite years of discussions and expressed enthusiasm, it seems that the collaboration has yet to materialize.

In the year 2022, Barton brought up Game Director Mathieu Cote from Dead by Daylight and the company Behaviour on Twitter, inquiring if the fanbase has made enough noise with an attached Art gif, implying that they should voice their opinions more.

So, um, @MCote_BHVR and @DeadByBHVR, have the fans been loud enough yet?

On October 27, 2024, a supporter playfully pointed out in a comment that Behaviour hadn’t returned Barton’s phone calls over the last two years.

Bhvr ignoring his calls for the last 2 years thank you godddd

As a gamer, I’d like to share some clarification Barton made on October 28th: it wasn’t Mathieu Cote who was holding back the missing chapter in Terrifier. He explained that Behaviour Interactive, much like the fans, really wanted a new Terrifier chapter; however, it seems like we couldn’t find common ground with him to make it happen.

In his writing, Barton expressed that they gave their utmost effort and share the same fervor as the fans. He also mentioned that they have made every attempt possible. He hopes that things will fall into place quicker and encourages everyone to keep hope alive.

This outcome isn’t on MCote_BHVR, but they’ve given their all, with genuine passion for the game matching that of fans. We put in our best efforts, and we’re hopeful that things will fall into place more swiftly. Stay optimistic!

It’s uncertain whether a Terrifier Dead by Daylight chapter featuring Art the Clown will materialize in the future or not, but given certain circumstances and successful negotiations over licensing agreements, it may potentially become a reality.

Indeed, during a fan survey conducted in September, Behaviour Interactive inquired about desired DLCs for the game. Notably, Art the Clown from Terrifier was one of the suggested additions. This implies that Behaviour may be open to collaboration, provided there is sufficient fan interest. At this point, fans will have to stay tuned and hope that the possible expansion materializes.
